Andrew (@thedadbodlawn) started transforming his lawn during the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic and it’s become engrained in his lifestyle.

He learned various tips to make his lawn the best in the neighborhood and now he’s helping others do the same.

He hates the look of a bumpy lawn and admitted that it can be a “real bummer” at times.

Andrew got to work in the backyard of his home and showed viewers his method to level his in a TikTok video.

Andrew even included his son in the video and didn’t mind having him around.

“Some people spend all day on a golf course. I spend all day in the yard with my kids around,” he wrote in a comment.

He first started the DIY task by lawn mowing on a low setting at one and a half inches.

Next, he used a mixture of 70% screen topsoil and 40% sand for this project.

He filled up a wagon four times, pulled it to the lawn, and spread out the piles using a landscape rake.

Andrew then used his DIY palette drag to do the “hard work” and smooth out the dirt for him.

He goes over it after with a leveling rig to “fine tune things” and help the grass pop through the soil.

“If you’re going to purchase one tool for this project, this is it,” he advised.

Once the groundwork was laid, it was time for some “premium grass seed.”

He used a drop spreader around the perimeter of the lawn to keep it out of the flower beds and a broadcast spreader in the center.

He applied The Andersons 16-4-8 Fertilizer, $52.88, as a starter to give the grass “a nutrient set it needs.”

After, he lightly raked all the grass seed into the soil before rolling it with a roller to “ensure good seed-to-soil contact.”

He recommended watering three to four times a day and to keep the grass seed moist.

“Remind people It’s ALREADY TOO LATE to do this. Very early spring or mid-fall is grass planting season,” a viewer commented.

Many were impressed with his lawn care skills and appreciated the advice.
