TikToker Kate (@kate_cleaninghome) created a video about her new favorite housekeeping trick.

The homemaker loves to use baby oil to polish her stainless steel.

She said it makes microwaves, refrigerators, and range hoods shine.

Kate starts by adhering a microfiber towel to a square dry mop.

Then she squirts some baby oil on the towel.

After those two steps, she’s ready to clean.

She started by wiping down a range hood.

Then she removed the microfiber towel from the mop and wiped the refrigerator and ovens down with a baby oil-doused cloth.

The tip might make your kitchen shiny, but commenters said the hack was flawed.

While some people said the baby oil would make their kitchens grimy, others said it would attract dust.

“An oily kitchen is the last thing I want,” one person said.

“Oil attracts dust,” a second wrote.

“I tried this and unfortunately it attracted more dust than before,” a third posted.

“They have stainless steel cleaner y’all doin to much,” a fourth added.

“Everything will be so sticky,” a fifth responded.
