The newly-divorced guest appeared at her own cousin’s wedding wearing all white and people are calling her an attention seeker.
A picture of the unnamed woman was shared on Reddit by another guest who was appalled by her outfit choice.
The Reddit user said: “Some people just have to be main characters no matter the occasion.”
“I have a Facebook friend who posted this photo from her cousin’s wedding. This is her with the MOB (mother of the bride).”
In the photo, viewers can see the mother of the bride posing with a wedding guest who wore a white satin dress with a small knee slit and gold heels.
The user added: “She’s wearing a long white satin dress. She’s recently divorced and a bit of an attention seeker anyway.”
The post has received over 1,000 upvotes and many Reddit users agreed wearing white to a wedding was completely inappropriate.
One user said: “It’s a classic attention-seeker move.”
“Well her wedding was obviously a farce so everyone else’s must be too,” said someone.
Another user confessed: I thought that was the bride until I finished reading your comment
A fourth user claimed: “Looks like sh*t on her too.”
“That’s the backup bride,” claimed someone else.
The original poster also shared a snap of the guest in a photo with the bride, their faces are not visible so it’s not clear whether or not the bride was upset by the ordeal.
However, quite a few Reddit users jumped in to defend the bride’s cousin.
Many claimed they thought the unspoken rule about not wearing white to a wedding was ridiculous.
One user said: “Ugh. I’m usually the least bothered by the white rule.”
Another said: “I don’t care about the dress so much.”
“Whatever. No one goes to a wedding and gets confused about who the bride is. Such stupid drama,” claimed someone else.
