Viewers watched as Karen packed up her life after being exposed for faking Albie’s kidnapping.

She kept son Keanu’s secret but also kept the tens of thousands of pounds they took from Phil Mitchell.

It had been announced earlier this year that Lorraine had been axed, and now the actress has broken her silence after her final scenes aired.

Taking to X – formerly Twitter – she responded to a video shared by EastEnders’ official account of her time on the show.

The post had read: “It feels like it was only yesterday that the Taylors first arrived on The Square! We’ll miss the endless drama, excellent banter and family pizza nights… Safe travels Karen, Mitch, Bailey, Mackenzie and Mia!”

Lorraine replied: “I’m totally overwhelmed with the lovely messages, thankyou so much, they really do mean a lot 🥰 big shout out to @CrampsieLinge for casting me, @DaranLittle for creating the Taylor’s & Sean O’Connor for giving me the opportunity.”

She signed off with three love heart emojis.

Meanwhile her co-star Clair Norris – who plays her daughter Bernie, also responded to the video and wrote: “6 years of amazing memories” alongside crying and love heart emojis.

While the rest of her family have left Walford, Bernie decided to stay having realised Karen only wanted her to go with her to look after the kids.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, fans flocked to share their thoughts following the family’s exit.

One wrote: “Farewell to Mitch, Karen, Bailey, Mac and Mia.”

A second said: “Can’t believe we are losing Mitch as well as Karen.”

Another added: “Ah poor Mitch! Didn’t realise he was leaving too.”

EastEnders airs on BBC One and available on BBC iPlayer.
