TIPPING Point viewers have ripped into a recent contestant on the show after he used the “worst technique” to beat the machine.
The ITV game show tests the knowledge and skill of players, however, one participant on Monday afternoon’s episode drew the criticism of fans.
Despite his decent level of general knowledge, Pete struggled to accumulate a sufficient amount of money.
His counters would often fill in gaps or become riders when they slide on top of pre-existing counters rather than pushing them from behind.
In total, he put nine counters into the machine, but only generated £350, resulting in his elimination after the second round.
Viewers soon took to Twitter to suggest it wasn’t simply luck, offering their input on the poor technique.
Alongside an array of shocked-faced emojis, one person penned: “Riders! Definition of insanity, doing exactly the same thing time after time, and expecting a different result!”
Echoing their comments, someone else said: “Why do none of these people know how to play this game?”
While a third remarked: “Pete’s timing is the worst I’ve ever seen. Even the wee old lady at the arcades has better timing on the 2p machines.”
Earlier this month, Tipping Point fans were left baffled after they spotted another format shake-up on the game show.
The programme, hosted by Ben Shephard, underwent a major change earlier this year when the contestants were reduced from four to three.
In addition, the second round was altered so the three contestants were given 45 seconds each instead of the previous 30.
Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV and the ITV Hub.
