Keir Starmer doubles down on Israeli ministers’ sanctions despite being slammed by US

SIR Keir Starmer yesterday doubled down on sanctioning Israeli ministers, despite being savagely rapped by the US.

Donald Trump’s administration hit out at Britain after the PM broke with tradition and imposed a travel ban and asset freeze on two far-right members of Israel’s government, Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich.

In a scathing attack on the move, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the sanctions “do not advance American efforts to achieve a ceasefire, bring all hostages home and end the war”.

Mr Rubio warned Britain “not to forget who the real enemy is”.

The US ambassador to the UK said he “fully supported” Mr Rubio’s slap down and warned the PM against “impeding constructive dialogue”.

Ben-Gvir, who is pushing to annex the West Bank and wants to permanently expel Palestinians from Gaza, said: “The American administration is a moral compass in the face of the confusion of some Western countries that choose to appease terrorist organizations like Hamas.

“Israel is not afraid — we will continue to fight terrorism.

“History will judge the Chamberlains of our time.”

At PMQs Sir Keir defended the sanctions as a bid to “uphold human rights and defend the prospect of a two-state solution”.

The PM said: “Acting alongside our allies, we have sanctioned individuals responsible for inciting appalling settler violence and expansion.

“We will continue to support all efforts to secure a ceasefire, the release of all hostages despicably held by Hamas and the humanitarian aid that needs to surge in.

BYD Dolphin Surf is a small, simple £18k motor packed with things that please… it knocks its rivals out the park

I’M a big fan of small and simple cars because I like value for money more than I do screens and gadgets.

This BYD Dolphin Surf is small and simple.

Lime green electric car parked on city street.

4

This BYD Dolphin Surf is small and simple
Lime green SUV parked on a city street.

4

The Dolphin Surf has four seats, three with ISOFIX anchor points and a surprisingly practical boot

Just press and go.

It’s value for money at £18,650.

And yet it’s got a rotating touchscreen and all those gadgets thrown in anyway.

Where’s the catch?

I can’t see one.

It knocks a Dacia Spring and Leapmotor T03 out of the park because it’s a proper car for not much more and it’s comfortably less than the already brilliant-value Renault 5.

Finance from £269 a month with £269 deposit. Or £199 a month with about £3k deposit.

It’ll cost pennies to run.

I reckon many will be bought as second cars but end up being the one owners use the most.

Dolphin Surf has four seats, three with ISOFIX anchor points for the kiddlywinks, and a surprisingly practical boot that’ll swallow the Friday big shop.

Japanese giant unveils its new bargain EV with quirky ‘bug eye’ headlights

Properly comfy seats by the way. Made of “vegan leather” whatever that means.

Big drink holders. Phone storage tray.

Apple CarPlay. Reversing camera.

Adaptive cruise control for your out-of-town runs.

All things that please and all included in the price.

You can even use your little BYD bud as a mobile power bank – running everything from party lights to a fridge.

Now I should spell out that Dolphin Surf comes in two battery sizes.

The entry-level Active gets you a 137-mile battery by the WLTP test and a big enough e-motor to keep you swimming in quick traffic.

Then there’s the £22k Boost nudging 200 miles from the 43kWh battery.

‘BRIM THE BATTERY’

Both use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry for higher levels of durability and safety.

So you can “brim” the battery every time without depleting it.

Both roll on Hankook tyres. Another positive.

Even the lime green paint job is free.

How safe is it? It’s engineered to attain a four-star safety rating.

The body uses 68 per cent high-strength steel and the car is brimming with anti-crash gear.

The car will be made in Hungary soon – and avoid tariffs.

I told you BYD would quickly chime with UK drivers and the Chinese are already outselling Honda, Citroen, Fiat and more.

There are a load of plug-in hybrids coming next, including a junior SUV and a pick-up truck called Shark.

Key facts: BYD DOLPHIN SURF

  • Price: £18,650
  • Battery: 30kWh
  • Power: 87hp

How illegal migrants are paying £20k to fly into the UK using fake papers before disappearing in new border threat

APPROACHING British passport control, a mum grips her young daughter’s hand nervously.

She fidgets with the documents they hope will fool airport officials into letting them through.

With her eyes darting nervously and head hung low, it doesn’t take long for border control officers at Manchester airport to clock something is not quite right.

And on closer examination, it is clear the paperwork is forged.

Immediately, they are blocked from entering the UK.

But while this mum and daughter failed, there are plenty more queuing up to take their place — and the majority are Iranians, cops believe.

READ MORE ON MIGRANT CRISIS

And far from risking death in treacherous boat journeys across the Channel, these chancers are prepared to pay £20,000 for a forged document pack enabling them to travel to the UK from airports all over Europe.

Many will get through — mysteriously disappearing once they have conned their way through customs.

Or they will dump their forged or stolen documents and immediately head to the closest immigration office to beg for asylum.

But on this occasion, Greater Manchester Police were called and an investigation — named Operation Alfriston — was quickly formed.

Its aim is to discover who these ruthless smuggling gangs are and how they operate across the UK.

This week The Sun was invited to watch as cops smashed down doors and arrested the crooks they believed had been trafficking untold numbers of illegal immigrants into Britain.

13 migrants jumped from the back of a lorry at a Sainsbury’s distribution centre in South East London

At 6am yesterday, 129 GMP police officers, alongside seven immigration compliance and enforcement officers, stormed 15 different addresses.

They arrested eight men, between the ages of 18 and 52, and two women, aged 32 and 43, all allegedly involved in a conspiracy to facilitate a breach of immigration law by assisting illegal entry into the UK.

If charged and found guilty, each member could face life in prison for their role in the smuggling ring.

‘I think we’re just scraping the surface’

The arrests took place in Greater Manchester — Bolton, Sale, Bramhall, Salford, Leigh and Cheadle — and Cricklewood, North London.

We saw cops from the Tactical Aid Unit shatter a glass door and then break down an internal one to enter a property in Bolton.

They alerted the occupants to their arrival with shouts of “police” as they marched inside in full protective gear.

Greater Manchester Police’s Head of Intel, Detective Chief Superintendent John Griffith, told The Sun: “Tackling immigration crime has become a priority for us. With the arrests yesterday morning, I think we’re just scraping the surface.

“By focusing on gathering intelligence on the infrastructure around how people are entering the UK illegally, hopefully we can deter other people from doing it.”

Migrants escorted by officials on a beach.

7

Migrants met by officers after arriving in KentCredit: AFP

Often people who are smuggled into the UK will end up working for little money at businesses such as car washes, nail bars and hairdressers. DCS Griffith, who has a background in counter terrorism, added: “These people are hugely vulnerable.

“If you can imagine some of the travelling conditions that they will have faced across Europe when coming into the UK — to put up with that, there must be a real desire to get here.

“That desire often transfers into a willingness to pay a lot of money to individuals to facilitate that entry, irrespective of the success of that entry or not.

“There are numerous individuals who have paid these facilitators and actually have never arrived in the UK, but continue to engage with them and pay them just for the attraction of coming here.”

Not long before Christmas last year, the ringleader of an organised crime gang dealing with migrants was picked up at the airport and flagged to police.

At the time, he was not arrested. Instead, cops gathered intelligence so that when they struck, they could take out all the key players.

While this is technically smuggling, it sits in a grey area that shares characteristics with modern slavery.

Justine Carter

The crook did most of his communications in the Persian language Farsi, adding a stumbling block for the team of 12 police officers.

For fake documents or stolen identities and paperwork to enter the UK via an airport, the group was charging around £20,000.

Investigation leader Detective Chief Inspector Tim Berry told The Sun: “Our main suspect, who is actively involved in facilitating people into the UK, is generally using false documents of various nationalities.

“To do that he needs a number of people around him to facilitate and support with various elements, such as supplying false documents, booking travel, moving monies — that kind of thing.

“We know that he’s offering the full package for around £20,000. It’s that profit that motivates organised crime gangs to do this kind of work.”

The Manchester force has spent thousands of man hours to identify all the key players in the group, with their tentacles extending as far as Cricklewood.

Police believe most of the people who have paid the extortionate fee to travel safely through the air, rather than crammed on a small boat in the Channel, are of Iranian nationality.

Fake passports are being sold by callous criminalsCredit: Getty

But not all the fake documents work, meaning the holders are turned away at the border and sent back to the country they have flown in from.

The process of sorting what is sold as safe passage to the UK requires a team of people.

DCI Berry explained: “We have evidence of travel booked by travel agents and our view is that they’re doing that knowing that they’re acting illegally, rather than blindly.

“We’ve also arrested people involved in money exchange services because you have to move money across Europe to pay for these documents.

“A lot of the people arrested fall into the logistics and facilitating category rather than being the organiser.”

‘Exploitation isn’t always visible or physical’

But things could be more sinister than just people smuggling — it is possible that the gang is also going on to exploit the people it has helped to enter the country illegally.

This would fall under modern slavery, where illegal immigrants are forced to work long hours for low pay or be exploited sexually to pay off their debt.

DCS Griffiths said: “Modern slavery in organised immigration crime is interlinked significantly. For me, organised immigration crime is the primary offence.

“People are coming into the country illegally, and we need to stop that collectively through our police action and partnership action.

“But once people are here, they are tied into the country through debt bondage.

“They get pulled into the grey economy as gangs exploiting these people either utilise their labour or engage them even further in criminal enterprise.

‘Ahead of the curve’

“This would be criminality such as drug supply and cannabis farms and other sorts of premises where crimes can be undertaken.”

Traditionally, immigration offences were dealt with by the National Crime Agency, Border Force and immigration enforcement officers.

But with the flood of illegal migrants by boat and other entry points, local police have been asked to step in too.

DCI Berry said: “In recent years, there’s been a real push from the Home Office and from the National Crime Agency for police forces to improve their response to organised immigration crime.

“I would like to think as a force that we’re actually fairly ahead of the curve because we have a dedicated team.

“We absolutely do look to take this work on and we’re still developing an understanding about our work from an intelligence point of view.

“But wherever we get opportunities to investigate this, we will do — because we recognise the risks around it and the vulnerabilities and the harm that can be caused by it.”

Justine Carter, director of strategy and business services at anti-modern slavery group Unseen, said: “While this is technically smuggling, it sits in a grey area that shares characteristics with modern slavery.

“These cases typically involve recruitment, movement, deception, and significant financial exploitation, which can often lead to debt bondage and long-term vulnerability.

“Even without forced labour, the legal threshold for trafficking may still be met if the acts, means and purpose are present.

“In these cases, the purpose is not labour or sexual exploitation, but financial gain through the exploitation of vulnerable people.

“It’s a reminder that exploitation isn’t always visible or physical — it can be economic and deeply systemic.”

The ten people arrested are being interviewed under suspicion of conspiracy to facilitate a breach of immigration law, assisting illegal entry into the country by non-UK nationals in breach of immigration law, conspiracy to money launder and participating in the activities of organised crime.

Nigel Farage says Brits have ‘every right to be angry’ about cost of hotels for migrants

BRITS struggling to live have “every right to be angry” about illegal migrants getting cushy hotel rooms, Nigel Farage said yesterday.

The Reform leader hailed The Sun’s front page for laying bare the crippling cost of asylum accommodation.

We told the case of Stuart Whittaker – a former factory worker from Hull who is now homeless – feeling he had been “shoved to the back of the queue”.

Downing Street yesterday admitted it was “absolutely not” fair that locals like him are sofa-surfing while taxpayers fork out for migrant hotels.

Also addressing the story in Port Talbot, Mr Farage said: “What I tell your man from Hull, is he has every right to be upset.

“Just don’t say anything on social media or Keir Starmer will put you in prison.”

He said that while legal migration has a bigger strain on public services, it is the “sheer unfairness of these young men” coming across the Channel illegally that rubs people up.

The cost of paying for asylum support has ballooned to around £4.7billion annually, and around 15,000 migrants have arrived from France this year already.

Sir Keir Starmer’s spokesman said: “It’s not fair that tens of thousands of people are stuck in an asylum backlog that’s wasting billions of pounds of taxpayers money, and that’s why we’re focused on taking the action needed to reduce the number of asylum seekers and hotels.”

Minister Chris Bryant yesterday insisted that the “best deterrent” against small boats was processing asylum claims quicker.

He was slammed by Tory Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp, who said: “This is dangerous nonsense from a weak Labour Government.

“Giving illegal immigrants asylum faster is no deterrent – it will just attract even more to come here.

“A real deterrent would be removing every single illegal immigrant who arrives in the UK to somewhere like Rwanda.”

Why Meghan MUST drop the ‘Duchess’ title, – I know the REAL reason she’s blurring kids faces

SHE’S on a roll. There’s no doubt about it.

After a brief flirtation with being a member of the Royal Family, Meghan Markle/Sussex/Mountbatten- Windsor/Spencer is flying solo.

Black and white photo of a woman hugging a child on a boat.

The reports that Meghan is now seeking to trademark future ventures in the hospitality sector for her As Ever brand suggest she is now fully invested in life as an influencer and entrepreneur.

And there’s nothing wrong with that.

But it has absolutely nothing to do with being royal.

Marrying Prince Harry fired her into global fame and now she wants to capitalise on it.

Somebody has to fund their Californian lifestyle, and Harry claims he has been financially cut off by his family.

After almost obsessive secrecy about their children and their home life, Meghan is now bombarding her growing band of social media fans with updates of what she, Harry and the kids have been up to.

To add some mystery, the children’s faces are obscured.

It’s a telling contrast to the pictures we see of William and Catherine’s young brood as they grow up.

Everything Meghan posts — from twerking videos on the labour ward to a family trip to Disney — multiplies the clicks and the potential revenue.

She’s turning out to be a shrewd operator — which perhaps she always was.

Meghan Markle Expands As Ever: From Lifestyle Brand to Hospitality Empire

Again, I have no problem with that.

But to try to cling to the vestiges of her blink-of-an-eye time as a working royal is disingenuous.

So, Meghan, how about dropping the Duchess nonsense and the HRH which you are no longer entitled to use?

Be independent and successful.

Make your As Ever brand bigger than ever on your own.

You are an independent woman with a husband who adores you.

Just because he’s a prince doesn’t mean you have to hang on to the idea of being a princess.

You tried being part of the Royal Family and hated it.

Time to move on, which, I think, is what this is all about.

Prince William gives emotional plea to world leaders urging them to act to save the planet

THE Prince of Wales said watching humans destroy our oceans was “simply heartbreaking” as he urged world leaders to act by thinking big yesterday.

William‘s call came in a speech to the Blue Economy and Finance Forum on ocean preservation at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco after meeting France’s President Emmanuel Macron.

The prince, whose opening and closing remarks were in French, said those attending were “united by our deep connection to the ocean and our concern for its safety”.

William, in navy suit with a recycled sustainable tie from Wilmok, said the clock was ticking on meeting the target agreed at the 2022 UN Biodiversity Summit aiming to protect at least 30 per cent of the world’s land and sea by 2030.

Speaking at the heads of state and government session on the forum’s final day, the prince added: “Watching human activity reduce beautiful sea forests to barren deserts at the base of our oceans is simply heartbreaking.

“For the future of our planet, for the future generations, we must listen to the words of Sir David Attenborough: ‘If we save the sea, we save our world’.

“I call on all of you to think big in your actions.”

World leaders were greeted by a blue carpet as they arrived at the event, with William chatting with Mr Macron and other dignitaries.

Addressing an audience of 1,800, William said: “Rising sea temperatures, plastic pollution and overfishing are putting pressure on fragile ecosystems.

“What once seemed an abundant resource is diminishing before our eyes.

“We all stand to be impacted. And we are all responsible for change — both negative and positive.

“But there remains time to turn this tide.”

Wills jokes ‘families can be a mixed bag – some of them might not want to see you much’

Later, William said he went through a range of emotions when he saw Sir David’s new Ocean film.

He told Enric Sala, who worked on the film: “I got angry, then sad, then I got frustrated, then I got happy.”

Nigel Farage vows to give young people opportunity to learn trades like welding and robotics in new plan

NIGEL Farage will offer young people the chance to take up trades such as welding and robotics as part of his re-industrialisation plans.

The Reform UK leader will accuse Labour of forgetting their heartlands by offering a bright future to youths if they gain power.

Farage has vowed to set up regional technical colleges in Wales teaching plumbing, electrical trades and industrial automation in a careers blitz if they win power there next year.

The intervention is part of a major drive to win next year’s elections there as he blames Labour’s “twenty-six years of failure” on a visit there today.

The move comes as the party chief vows to abandon the government’s Net Zero drive if he reaches power by re-opening coal mines.

The party chief intends to give the green light to digging for British coal rather than importing it to help make home-grown steel.

Ministers have set out their plans for not granting any more coal licences insisting that phasing out is crucial to tackling climate change.

But during a major speech today, he will talk about how Wales produced 60 million tons of coal exporting half of it.

He will also hail the country’s heritage, he will address Port Talbot steelworks which were once the largest steel plant in Europe.

The party chief will use a major speech in the Principality setting out his plans to re-industrialise the country in areas betrayed by Labour.

He will take aim at Sir Keir Starmer’s ‘year of failure” since coming to power and saying the game is up for blaming the Tories for the woes of Wales.

Mr Farage will also highlight how de-industrialisation there means GDP per head is £10,000 less than the UK.

I had a secret fling with my mate’s mum now I’m worried he’ll find out

DEAR DEIDRE: IF my best pal finds out that I’m having an affair with his mum, it will ruin our friendship and tear his family apart.

I’m 20, the same age as my mate. He has two siblings, aged 17 and 15.

I’ve known his mum, who is 49, since I was a kid. She used to pick me up from school sometimes when my mum was working late.

She was our biggest supporter when we played football for our local team, always ready with encouragement and snacks.

When we were in our early teens, her husband cheated on her.

My mate told me how she didn’t cope well, but within the year she’d moved on with another guy, who she was with for three years.

But that relationship also ended when he moved abroad for work.

Soon after, I bumped into her in a new cafe in town.

I helped her carry her shopping home, chatting all the way.

When we got there, she asked me to do a little DIY job while I was there.

My mate is away at training college so isn’t around to help her.

She also asked me if I could do a few other repairs for her and I agreed to do them.

Dear Deidre After Dark- Understanding open relationships

The next time I went round, though, we began flirting.

Before I knew it, we were kissing and cuddling. We went to her bedroom — she led me there by the hand.

We ended up having the most awesome sex. Afterwards, she said it was a one-off not to be repeated.

However, we have had sex many times since then.

She is really worried that my mate will find out, but we are very careful — and so far our secret is safe.

I love her, but she says I need to find a woman my own age. I worry that someone will get hurt and it’s likely to be me.

DEIDRE SAYS: This relationship won’t ever work. She’s running a home with no partner to give her support, but she should know better than to seduce her son’s friend.

Your mate would be devastated if he knew what his mother is doing, and you stand to lose his friendship if he ever finds out.

You don’t have to give in to temptation. Don’t go round to her house again.

Get out with friends your own age and give yourself the chance of a more equal relationship.

You’ve had a lucky escape and got away with it.

Put it down to experience and get on with enjoying your life.

Get in touch with Deidre

Every problem gets a personal reply, usually within 24 hours weekdays.

I STILL FEEL ANGER OVER CHEATING EX

DEAR DEIDRE: I CANNOT stop feeling angry with my ex-wife – who I broke up with after coming home early one day and seeing her in bed with another guy.

I am 36. I thought we had a great relationship, but clearly I was wrong.

We had been married for five years and were talking about starting a family.

But she began going out regularly, getting drunk and not coming home until the early hours.

After I caught her cheating, we divorced. She has remarried and has a baby. I have moved on, too, and am now with a wonderful woman.

Our mutual friends have accepted my ex’s new husband, yet they don’t seem to want to know my partner, who has done nothing wrong. It feels like I am being punished for her affair when I am completely innocent.

My ex’s life seems to be going so smoothly. She hasn’t suffered in the way I did and I sometimes wish she had. Why can’t I just move on?

DEIDRE SAYS: The fact you are still hurt and angry over the loss of your marriage is understandable. You were betrayed in the worst way possible.

Counselling could help you to find peace and contentment with your new partner and leave the past behind. My support pack, How Counselling Helps, explains more.

Unfortunately, many people feel pressured to choose sides when a couple divorce.

Building up new friendships will help shift your focus from this pain.

WORRIED TO DATE WITH STD

DEAR DEIDRE: AFTER my ex gave me genital herpes, I worry my chances of dating someone new are ruined. I am devastated.

I am a 24-year-old single woman. I was with my boyfriend for two years, but I discovered through a mutual friend that he had been cheating on me all the time we were together.

And he gave me herpes. I am so ashamed because I know the stigma around this condition. The thought of telling someone new is so daunting, but saying nothing is putting them at risk of going through the same nightmare.

It is all I think about from the minute I wake up until I go to sleep at night.

It is really knocking my confidence as I’m scared about what any guy’s reaction will be. I think they are likely to run a mile.

I feel very alone and it’s never off my mind. My mum keeps telling me not to worry about it as it’s very common.

It is stopping me from even attempting to date and getting close to someone.

DEIDRE SAYS: There is no reason to avoid meeting new partners. You can have a safe sex life without passing on the virus.

Don’t feel ashamed about what has happened, herpes is a common virus.

You can get detailed advice from the Herpes Viruses Association (herpes.org.uk, 0845 123 2305), who can help you get on with your life.

My support pack, Raising Self-Esteem, will give you a confidence boost.

SILLY GAME HAS RUINED SEX LIFE

DEAR DEIDRE: A DRUNKEN game of truth or dare went disastrously wrong when I admitted to my husband that my ex had a bigger penis than him.

I bitterly regret blurting this out and, since then, our once regular, amazing sex life has virtually died out completely.

I am 33 and my husband is 35. We have been married for eight years.

He was so hurt and admitted that something inside him just switched off and destroyed his sex drive.

Apart from the lack of sex, we have a wonderful relationship.

We are very tactile and always have lots of kisses and cuddles.

He is my best friend and always calls me every day when he is at work to say that he loves me. I know that I have let him down terribly.

Since that night, sex has dwindled to a couple of times a year at best.

And it’s always me who initiates it when my husband has had a few drinks. He admits he probably needs help, but he never does anything about it.

It is so frustrating. I feel like I am being punished even though I have apologised for my mistake many times.

I am missing the sensual closeness and intimacy of sex. My friends all say we are lucky to be so in love and happy. If they knew the truth, they would be shocked.

DEIDRE SAYS: If your husband already had insecure feelings about his size, then your confession would intensify that.

You have apologised and I assume that you have never complained about your sex life before this.

Reassure your husband that being a great lover is about skill, not penis size, and you are more than happy.

Tell him how much you miss being intimate and want to get your sex life back to normal. My support pack on Penis Size will reassure him.

Watch what you drink in future, to avoid being insensitive.

A source said: “Chloe and Jack have been on and off for months but have finally put their differences aside to give their relationship another chance.

“They really want to make it work so have been enjoying some low-key dates as they gradually build the trust.

“They have realised they have something special so want to put their time and energy into making it work.”

Earlier this week they sparked rumours of a reunion when they shared snaps on their respective Instagrams from the same East London market.

Jack posed outside the Birdcage pub at Bethnal Green’s Columbia Road Flower Market on Sunday.

Then Chloe posted from the same spot with a huge bouquet of flowers.

Just last month Jack had told The Sun that he still loves Chloe.

He shared: “I don’t know what will happen between us.

“I still love her. I doubt it’s over for good.”

Prince William urges world to help save seas as he joins Sir David Attenborough to discuss deteriorating oceans

PRINCE William will today urge the world to help save our seas — as he joins Sir David Attenborough to discuss deteriorating oceans.

William is expected to call on everyone to “think big in your actions” when he highlights the urgency of the situation in a landmark speech.

In the address in Monaco at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum, he will say: “Let us act together with urgency and optimism while we still have the chance.”

The father of three, 42, is there as founder of the Earthshot environmental prize which has “Revive Our Oceans” as one of its themes.

A Kensington Palace spokesman said: “This speech is the Prince of Wales calling for action to save our oceans now.

“The world is watching. This is him using his platform to call for more to be done sooner rather than later.”

More on Sir David Attenborough

William sits down with Sir David, 99, to celebrate the environmentalist’s new film, Ocean, which is released on streaming platforms today, World Oceans Day.

The Prince asks: “David, from what you’ve seen over the years, what state would you say the oceans are in right now?”

He replies: “The awful thing is it’s hidden from you and from me and from most people.

“The thing I’m appalled by when I first saw the shots taken for this film are what we have done to the deep ocean floor is just unspeakably awful.

“If you did anything remotely like it on land everybody was up in arms. If this film . . . just shifts public awareness, it will be very, very important.

“And I can only hope that people who see it will recognise that something must be done before we destroy this great treasure.”

Ocean with David Attenborough, official trailer

Asked by the Prince if there are things deep down in the oceans “we’ve never seen”, he answers that it is “beyond question”.

They also discuss Sir David’s decades of ocean exploration and the vital role the ocean has in supporting and sustaining life on Earth.

Wills and Sir David also speak about the importance of remaining optimistic about ocean protection and the role younger people play.

At the beginning of the film, Sir David has the Prince in stitches as he tries on a diving helmet used in filming 1990’s The Trials of Life.

They also inspect an underwater camera used in filming Ocean.

Fury as ‘disgusting’ Cadbury cuts size of popular multipack from six bars to four but keeps price the SAME

CHOC-lovers are fuming after Cadbury reduced the size of its Dairy Milk Little Bars multipacks by a third.

New packs of four are being sold for £1.40, even though packs of six cost the same last month.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Little Bars multipack (4 bars).

1

Choc-lovers are fuming after Cadbury reduced the size of its Dairy Milk Little Bars multipacks by a third

The change has been blasted by shoppers, including many parents who bought them as kids’ snacks.

One fumed on the Tesco website: “Advertised as new, only thing new is you get 4 instead of 6!! For the same price. Disgusting!”

A second said: “Stop reducing how much is in the packet and charging the same price!!!”

A third added: “Was a six pack now a four pack for the same price, a third less chocolate, unacceptable shrinkflation.”

Read More on SHRINKFLATION

It comes after Cadbury reduced packs of Freddos from five to four and Cadbury Dairy Milk multipacks were cut from nine bars to seven.

Cadbury said: “We understand the economic pressures that consumers continue to face and any changes to our product sizes is a last resort for our business.

“However, as a food producer, we are continuing to experience significantly higher input costs across our supply chain, with ingredients such as cocoa and dairy, which are widely used in our products, costing far more than they have done previously.

“Meanwhile, other costs like energy and transport, also remain high. This means that our products continue to be much more expensive to make and while we have absorbed these costs where possible, we still face considerable challenges

“As a result of this difficult environment, we have had to make the decision to slightly reduce the weight of our Cadbury Dairy Milk Little Bars multipacks so that we can continue to provide consumers with the brands they love, without compromising on the great taste and quality they expect.”

Dan Coatsworth, analyst at the investment firm AJ Bell, explained: “The cost of producing chocolate has gone up a lot in recent years, driving up prices and prompting firms to make products smaller.

We’ve outdone ourselves with this one’ say Cadbury Ireland as they reveal new limited edition bar ‘coming soon

“When production costs rocket, companies only have a limited range of options.

“They can pass on the costs to the customer through higher prices, which is difficult with a product like chocolate where people are often looking for a cheap treat.

“Another option is to reduce the size of the product in order to reduce the manufacturing cost for each bar of chocolate. Or they can try a combination of the two.

“As a last resort, companies may have to tolerate lower profit margins, especially if consumers refuse to tolerate price rises and stop buying.”

The British Retail Consortium said global cocoa prices are around three times higher than in 2022, after being badly affected by poor harvests in parts of Africa.

Donald Trump slams ‘big-time drug addict’ Elon Musk as toxic feud intensifies

DONALD Trump called Elon Musk a “big-time drug addict” as his spat with the world’s richest man intensified.

The US President is said to have blasted his billionaire ex-backer as reliant on ketamine in phone calls.

It came after the Tesla billionaire linked Mr Trump to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Their feud went public on Thursday night as both men used their own social media platforms — X and Truth Social — to insult each other.

Mr Musk, 53, turned on the US leader, calling his Congressional spending bill a “disgusting abomination” on Wednesday.

The President, 78, has called it his “big, beautiful bill”, but Mr Musk believes it will increase national debt by an unsustainable amount.

It triggered the ugly public bust-up, with Musk calling for Trump to be impeached and accusing him of being a close associate of Epstein.

Yesterday, Mr Musk deleted the post, which was seen hundreds of millions of times.

The Washington Post reported Mr Trump used private calls to urge his allies not to pour fuel on the fire and told Vice President JD Vance to be cautious.

But the President, whose campaign took £250million from Mr Musk, is also said to have become weary with the tycoon’s alleged drug use.

He called Mr Musk an “addict” in the calls and claimed he “lost his mind” after leaving the administration.

The businessman previously admitted using ketamine, but it is alleged he became so hooked last year it affected his kidneys.

Trump insists Elon Musk is lashing out at ‘big beautiful bill’ for personal reason as he admits he’s ‘disappointed’ in Tesla boss

Mr Musk officially left the government last week but said he would remain as a “friend and adviser” to Mr Trump.

The President last night said he had “no intention” of speaking to Mr Musk, adding: “I think it’s a very bad thing because he’s very disrespectful”.

Horror as soldier stabbed in the face by maniac in random attack while walking his dog near UK base

THE trainee, in his 20s, was confronted by a maniac who attempted to steal the pet two miles away from the Swinton Barracks in Tidworth, Wiltshire.

The incident on Friday afternoon sent shockwaves through the camp, though the young victim, who suffered a facial wound, is expected to make a full recovery.

It is understood that police are now investigating the attack.

It is not thought to be linked to the victim’s role in the Army.

A source said: “It was a random attack while he was out walking a dog.

“The attacker approached him and produced a knife, and demanded that he hand the dog over.

“Obviously he refused. The knifeman made a lunge at him, and he was wounded in the face.

“The attacker wouldn’t have known he was in the military, but obviously, with the threats soldiers face, this is still an alarming incident.”

Military sources said Wiltshire Police were investigating the incident as a civilian matter.

Swinton Barracks is a 320-acre military estate on the eastern edge of Salisbury Plain, which is regularly used for Army drills.

It houses two Royal Engineer regiments and two Signal regiments.

Wiltshire Police said: “At around 3.45pm on Friday, we received a report that an unknown suspect had approached a man walking a dog in woodland near Perham Down and attempted to snatch the lead of the dog.

Horror moment McDonald’s staff threatened with huge machete and four teens arrested

“The victim, a man in his 20s, suffered a minor injury to his face during the incident.

“Our enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”

The Sun on Sunday understands Jamie has been suspended by the BBC from his role playing Jay Slater on EastEnders

Disability equality charity Scope said the remarks were “ignorant and hurtful”, adding: “Attitudes and language like this are never acceptable.”

The EastEnders star was suspended by the BBC after a video emerged of him on the Strictly set using the term “m********s” to describe the people of Blackpool, the seaside town where the show was being filmed.

Blackpool Council’s Tory group leader Paul Galley blasted: “Everyone will be shocked at such a horrible comment and I join them in condemning it.”

And the BBC told The Sun on Sunday: “This language is entirely unacceptable and in no way reflects the values or standards we hold and expect at the BBC. We have robust processes in place for this.”

The Sun on Sunday understands Jamie has been suspended by the BBC from his role playing Jay Slater on EastEnders.

Jamie made the offensive remark on a mobile phone video while the Strictly cast and crew were at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom last November for the flagship BBC1 series live show.

He was backstage during rehearsals with his Strictly co-star Wynne Evans who said “Oh my God” on the footage sent to a pal of Jamie’s.

Jamie, who has been on EastEnders since 2006, said in a statement to The Sun on Sunday: “I want to apologise sincerely and wholeheartedly for the words I used in the video showing my reaction to making it through Blackpool week on Strictly.

“I am deeply sorry for any offence and upset my words and actions have caused.

“It is no excuse, but I did not fully understand the derogatory term I used and its meaning.

Strictly’s Jamie Borthwick cheated on me during the show and then used co-star to try and smooth it over, ex tells pals

“That is on me completely.

“Now I am aware, I am deeply embarrassed to have used the term and directed it in the way I did.

“It was wrong.

“When I made the video, I was excited and caught up in the moment.

“Again, that is no excuse.

“But my regrettable actions are not a true reflection of my views, or who I am.

“I enjoyed every minute of my time in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom and the town itself.

“The people of Blackpool have always been amazing with the Strictly crew, dancers and cast members.

“I know they will be again for this year’s show and those in years to come.

“I am truly sorry.”

The actor and Wynne were sharing their excitement after being told they were selected for the lucrative Strictly tour – which was staged nationwide earlier this year.

Jamie, laughing, says on the video: “Blackpool by the way. “Absolute m********s’.”

The soap star and his professional dance partner Michelle Tsiakkas were lauded in Blackpool after dancing the Jive to The Ketchup Song by Las Ketchup in the live show on November 16.

This latest shock comes after opera singer Wynne was booted off the Strictly tour in January accused of making an inappropriate sexual comment, and later told his BBC Radio Wales contract is not being renewed following a four-month investigation.

And it follows The Sun on Sunday revealing in April how Jamie and Wynne were rapped by BBC bosses for sharing a joke over a sex toy video backstage at the Strictly tour in Birmingham – which happened before the latter’s suspension.

Now Jamie is at the centre of a new storm after The Sun on Sunday alerted his team and the BBC to the latest video.

It sparked an angry reaction from disability campaigners and the people of Blackpool.

Warren Kirwan, Media Manager at disability equality charity Scope said: “Attitudes and language like this are never acceptable.

“It’s not just ignorant and hurtful to disabled people, it has wider consequences.

“Negative attitudes hold disabled people back in all areas of life from getting a job to shopping on the high street.

“Mr Borthwick needs to reflect on what he said, educate himself and do better.

“We hope he takes the opportunity to get to know the reality of disabled people’s lives.”

Councillor Paul Galley, Blackpool Council’s Conservative group leader, condemned Jamie Borthwick’s comments.

He said: “Blackpool’s best asset is its amazing people, along with the millions of people from around the UK who genuinely love the town.

“Everyone will be shocked at such a horrible comment and I join them in condemning it.”

Meanwhile, a source explained how the Blackpool show is the ‘jewel in the crown’ of the Strictly series – with celebs and pro dancers often saying how much they enjoy performing there.

The source added: “This will be considered a real blow and hugely embarrassing to the BBC and the show’s very warm relationship with the people of Blackpool and the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.”

‘Crass’ cops slammed for playing ‘snog, marry, kill’ with mugshots of local call girls and felons

LAYING “snog, marry, avoid” with colleagues at work could be sexual harassment, a tribunal has ruled.

The “crass” and “inappropriate” game may breach the Equality Act, an Employment judge said.

The risqué quiz involves naming three people and then asking a person to pick which one you would like to kiss, which one you would get married to and which one you would steer clear of altogether.

In the BBC hit comedy Gavin and Stacey, Pam, Mick, Gavin and Smithy played a version of it featuring celebrities during a car ride from Essex to Wales

However, the tribunal found it may break workplace laws.

The ruling came in the case of a police officer who sued Derbyshire Police after a female colleague involved him in the game — using mugshots of sex workers.

The officer candidly admitted to the tribunal that she had “jokingly” played the game with co-workers and included PC Shafarat Mohammed in their discussion.

PC Mohammed claimed that during the discussion in May or June 2022 he was only shown images of black women and was asked what he liked about one of them.

He said he was “embarrassed” and “offended” by the questioning and felt it was inappropriate.

The tribunal judge said: “We agree that the questions were inappropriate.”

However, the tribunal found there was no racial or religious element to it as the sex workers were of varying ethnicities.

PC Mohammed lost his case for racial and religious discrimination and harassment.
