The footage was filmed in Bearwood, in the southern part of Smethwick, West Midlands.

A bald man wearing a dark gilet jacket and grey t-shirt wields the axe above his head as he confronts another man who tries to defend himself by holding his hand out and walking backwards.

Raised voices can be heard but it is unclear where they are coming from.

The dark-haired man wearing a grey tracksuit, who tries to defend himself, has his right arm stretched out in front of him as the bald man steps forward to take a swing at him with the axe.

As the man in the tracksuit steps backwards he stumbles and falls to the ground as the bald man steps forward and once again raises the axe above his head.

The bald man then stands towering over the other man who is sitting on the pavement with his arm stretched out.

Voices shout out as the bald man appears ready to attack.

Fortunately, the attacker then pauses as he appears to see sense and lowers his axe and walks away.

As he starts to walk away he then turns around pointing to the other man who is getting up off the floor and words are exchanged.

Luckily, there is no bloodshed and neither man appears to be injured.

A caption on the video says: “Man ain’t playing with the axe” while the footage was uploaded to the social media site X, formerly Twitter, on September 20.

Officers from West Midlands Police have launched an investigation into the horrifying incident and are attempting to “establish the full circumstances.”

A 39-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon, section 18 wounding and possession of a bladed article.

He has now been bailed while detectives probe the incident further.

Horror as soldier stabbed in the face by maniac in random attack while walking his dog near UK base

THE trainee, in his 20s, was confronted by a maniac who attempted to steal the pet two miles away from the Swinton Barracks in Tidworth, Wiltshire.

The incident on Friday afternoon sent shockwaves through the camp, though the young victim, who suffered a facial wound, is expected to make a full recovery.

It is understood that police are now investigating the attack.

It is not thought to be linked to the victim’s role in the Army.

A source said: “It was a random attack while he was out walking a dog.

“The attacker approached him and produced a knife, and demanded that he hand the dog over.

“Obviously he refused. The knifeman made a lunge at him, and he was wounded in the face.

“The attacker wouldn’t have known he was in the military, but obviously, with the threats soldiers face, this is still an alarming incident.”

Military sources said Wiltshire Police were investigating the incident as a civilian matter.

Swinton Barracks is a 320-acre military estate on the eastern edge of Salisbury Plain, which is regularly used for Army drills.

It houses two Royal Engineer regiments and two Signal regiments.

Wiltshire Police said: “At around 3.45pm on Friday, we received a report that an unknown suspect had approached a man walking a dog in woodland near Perham Down and attempted to snatch the lead of the dog.

Chilling video evidence reveals how Akheel Khan, dressed in a black top and grey joggers, sparked chaos on the quiet street.

He appears out of no where backed by a gang of lads around him before cops intervene.

The 24-year-old is seen roaming the streets with his weapon, on a revenge rampage.

The thugs scarper as more than six officers chase them down the road with help from a riot van.

CCTV shows the moment Khan is finally cuffed and restrained by two policemen outside a nearby property.

Teesside Crown Court heard the horrifying ordeal unfolded amid the Middlesbrough riots earlier this year.

The court heard Khan, an engineer with a first class honours degree, left his Mosque on August 4.

He was spotted later that evening on Belk Street and Park Lane, with the group of yobs looking for someone.

Khan had discovered his car had been damaged in the riots and the court heard he armed himself with a hammer to go out and look for the person who had done it.

Cleveland police were called out to Park Lane at just after 8pm to “reports of a group of Asian men fighting.”

Khan got into a waiting car which crashed seconds later and was arrested immediately afterwards.

He appeared in court having admitted violent disorder.

His solicitor Michele Turner asked the judge to consider suspending Khan’s sentence as he was a victim after discovering his car had been smashed up.

The court heard how his job in Sheffield is being held open for him.

Judge Richard Bennett sentenced Khan, of Wheatley Close in Acklam, to 15 months.

He will serve 40 per cent of the prison term before he is released on licence.
