They explained that they’d been a vet for decades and had seen lots of pet parent mistakes.

A few, however, stood out.

“Been working in the field since 99. Seen a lot of stupid. Some of my favorites,” they said.

At the bottom of the list was a financial decision they wished many would wise up to.

“People who get duped into spending so much on designer breeds. $3,500 for a border collie lab mix?” they said, shocked.

Other mistakes that bothered them were whittled down to negligence.

“Every person who doesn’t research their working dog before getting them,” they said.

Owners confused about vaccines also made their highlights.

“Owners who think the rabies vaccine will give their pet rabies,” they said.

The long list of mistakes included issues that negatively impacted their pets directly.

The vet recalled a pet parent who was oblivious to what they were feeding their dogs.

“Owner with chronic diarrhea in for a consult. ‘What does he get fed every day? Include treats/kibble/scraps,'” they had asked.

The owner unknowingly revealed that they had been providing their dog with an improper diet.

One incident, however, paws-itively made the top of their list fur-ever.

The vet explained an owner revealed she had kissed her ferret’s “outie belly button” every night.

The animal expert had the unfortunate job of delivering the news to her.

“Had to break it to her that it is his penis,” they sighed.

Vets agreed that the last incident took the cake.

“As someone in the exotics field of vet med, that one made me cringe on a whole other level,” said one.
