I spotted this discount on the mobile phone deals page on the Amazon website.

It’s actually one of a number of Honor deals available on Amazon right now: you’ll also find tablets and earbuds from the brand on offer too.

The Honor X7a mobile was released back in January 2023, and aimed squarely at the budget market.

It’s aimed at Android shoppers looking for a no-fuss, no-frills smartphone with a few surprise extra features.

The specs aren’t, of course, in the same league as high-end flagship devices. But you’ll be paying several hundred pounds for those sorts of phones.

(That being said, Honor’s flagship Magic6 Pro smartphone is currently on sale for £849.99).

But despite the super-low price tag, the X7a still has some impressive-looking features.

Firstly, there’s that huge 6.74-inch screen, something that you’re probably more likely to associate with big-bucks mobiles that have with ‘Max’ or ‘Plus’ in their names.

It’ll be ideal for anybody sick of squinting at their phone while streaming or gaming.

Secondly, there’s the enormous battery life: whereas flagships and higher-spend smartphones tend to gobble up power very quickly, budget mobiles last for much longer.

The Honor X7a is advertised to last for 37 hours based on audio calls, or for 19 hours based on video playback.

The SuperCharge function also means the X7a will power up incredibly quickly, reportedly delivering 3 hours of video playback after just 10 minutes of charge.

I’ve not personally tested the Honor X7a, but the Amazon reviews are encouraging: it’s currently got an average rating of 4.3 out of 5.

‘Perfect phone for everyday use,’ writes one shopper. ‘I wanted a phone, with everything necessary for the average person, for under £150… I don’t think I could have picked a better mobile.’

Another buyer says: ‘ I love the fact that [the X7a] has voice recognition to dictate emails and messages so saves loads of time… Battery life is great.

‘Loads of storage for the apps that I use. Great price, I would definitely buy again in future, and I 100% recommend.’
