Lorraine Kelly goes topless in new shoot as she jokes about her ‘bigger buns’

Lorraine Kelly strips off as part of ground-breaking Change + Check campaign raising awareness of breast cancer

TV star Lorraine Kelly has stripped off Calendar Girls-style for the first time – with only a pair of strategically-placed buns covering her modesty. Speaking to the Mirror about her first topless shoot, she joked how she worried her team would be “traumatised” by the sight of her bare flesh.

The shoot was all in aid of the show’s National Check Your Boobs Day initiative within its Lorraine’s Change + Check campaign. Lorraine admits: “I just loved this idea. It’s cheeky and funny and is a nod to the wonderful Calendar Girls.

“It also gave me the chance to say the iconic line “we’re going to need considerably bigger buns”.

Opening up about stripping off, Lorraine adds: “I didn’t feel in any way vulnerable or uncomfortable as I was with my team who are my friends, and our amazing photographer had also gone through breast cancer herself. My editor Victoria asked if I was comfortable being filmed and I told her I was fine, but to check with the crew in case they would be traumatised!!

“It was all very light-hearted, and after all it’s all about getting the Change + Check message across.” The photograph was taken by photographer Sally Mais, a survivor of breast cancer.

The new day will take place today which show bosses hope will serve as a crucial reminder for everyone to make self-checking a regular monthly habit. Lorraine is even after an official endorsement from Prime Minister Keir Starmer to establish the day on the national calendar. It comes as the The Change + Check campaign is now officially endorsed by the NHS.

Minister for Public Health and Prevention, Ashley Dalton said: “It’s so incredibly important to check for the signs of breast cancer because we know early diagnosis leads to better outcomes. The Change + Check campaign is a brilliant way for people out and about shopping on their local high street to quickly check themselves as they get changed, knowing the advice is accurate and officially supporting the NHS.”

Asda will also be selling specially created Change + Check ‘iced busty buns’ in their stores throughout the month of October, and the Change + Check sticker will now be visible in Boots pharmacies across the country. Lorraine says the campaign is one of the things she is most proud of in her 40 year career. She said: “Every year the campaign just gets bigger and bigger, and I am so proud of the work we’ve done and the lives we’ve helped to save.

“Launching Britain’s first ever ‘National Check Your Boobs Day’ is a huge step forward and will hopefully be a crucial reminder for everyone to prioritise their breast health. This is something that truly matters to me, and I’m so grateful for all the support we receive from the public and our partners to get this vital message out there.”

Founded by Lorraine producer Helen Addis MBE and host Lorraine Kelly CBE in 2019, the campaign aims to destigmatise conversations around breast cancer. Over the past seven years, more than 100 women and one man have contacted the show to report that they have received a breast cancer diagnosis as a result of seeing the campaign.

Lorraine Kelly’s scathing three-word verdict on Melania Trump’s UK visit outfit

Lorraine Kelly didn’t hold back on her ITV show today when it came to Melania Trump’s outfit at last night’s State Banquet for US President Donald Trump’s visit to the UK

ITV’s Lorraine Kelly has given her brutal verdict on Melania Trump’s State Banquet outfit, admitting: “Personally – not a fan.” The US First Lady attended the luxurious state banquet with husband, American President Donald Trump, at Windsor Castle last night.

Hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla, the banquet saw the likes of Rupert Murdoch, Keir Starmer, Kate Middleton and Prince William dine at St George’s Hall after months of preparation. Melania wore a bright yellow Carolina Herrera dress to the event, accessorised with a purple belt and Malono Blahnik heels.

However, ITV presenter Lorraine wasn’t too keen on the look. Speaking on her show this morning, she said: “The other big talking point was Melania’s outfits and what they mean because these women never just put on clothes like you and I. There’s always a wee hidden meaning.

“One thing that really struck me when I see them walking in, I bet they can’t wait to get out of all that and put their comfies on and sit in front of the telly with a box of Maltesers,” she laughed.

“Melania’s dress has got everyone talking. Personally – not a fan. What do you think because you know these things,” she asked fashion expert Jo Elvin on the show.

While Jo revealed that she didn’t like the belt, she defended Melania, saying: “I’m a big fan of yellow and I love Carolina Herrera who has form for dressing up American First Ladies for State Banquets.

“A lot of people were saying, ‘Would she not have worn British?’ But she had the nod to British with her little purple Manolo Blahnik shoes. It’s actually quite traditional for the American First Lady to promote American designers…I think it’s still formal enough.”

While Paul Brand said that he didn’t think the outfit was appropriate for a State Banquet, Jo said that Melania would be “devastated” to hear him say that. “This is visit is such a big deal for them – she would have been thinking about this for months.”

Lorraine jumped: “She always looks great but that’s just not really- when you compare it with Kate, who has got it absolutely right. Look at this woman – she looks extraordinary. Just elevate it a wee bit, that’s what Melania should have done.”

Lorraine Kelly ‘opens her eyes’ and signs huge deal with ITV rival amid cuts

Lorraine Kelly was away filming last month and it’s now been reported that she was working on a ‘big budget’ travel show for Channel 4 ahead of changes to her ITV talk show

TV presenter Lorraine Kelly is said to have filmed a “big budget” project for Channel 4 recently. Ahead of changes to her long-running ITV talk show next year, it’s been teased that she’s considering other options that she could explore.

Lorraine, now 65, has fronted her eponymous show for more than a decade, with it having launched in 2010. It was however announced by ITV earlier this year that, from January next year, episodes will be reduced to 30 minutes. It was also revealed that the show will then only run for 30 weeks each year.

Following the news, last month, Lorraine shared that she was away and teased that she was having “big filming adventures” in Norway. She said in a video message on Instagram: “I’m in the land of the midnight sun. It’s absolutely glorious. It’s a project that I’ve wanted to do for years and years, and finally it’s actually happening. I’m heading really, really far north.”

It’s now been reported by the Sun that Lorraine flew to the country last month to work on a travel show for Channel 4, rather than ITV. A source told the outlet that the broadcaster was “delighted” to have signed up Lorraine for the project.

The source said it was “exciting” for her to do “something different” and to be back on location somewhere. They teased that amid the shake-up at ITV daytime shows, her “loyal” fans will support Lorraine “wherever she goes”.

They said: “Despite the apparent slight in the ITV daytime shake-up, Lorraine’s loyal fanbase isn’t to be underestimated and they will follow her wherever she goes. She’s survived in this business a long time, and she’s a master at rolling with the punches.”

It’s also been reported by the outlet that the production role Head of Lorraine is being axed at ITV. It’s claimed that her two producers are set to instead report to bosses on This Morning.

The source said that it casts doubt on the future of the talk show and claimed that her current contract finishes next year. The source teased: “She’s opening her eyes up to the many options available to her.”

ITV said in a statement: “We have always said that from January 2026, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will be three editorially distinct shows which will be produced by one team. These changes are not about the performance of the shows or the staff. We can assure our viewers that their favourite daytime shows will remain familiar to them on screen.”

Although best known for her work on ITV, Lorraine has appeared on other channels over the years too. It includes her having been on Channel 4’s the Last Leg on several occasions and she mentioned the show on a podcast recently.

She teased last month that she’s able to be “a bit naughty” on shows away from ITV’s Lorraine. As reported at the time, she said to Tom Kerridge on the Proper Tasty podcast: “40 years in TV last year was incredible. I got a BAFTA. ‘Here’s a BAFTA for being alive.’ I thought, ‘Hang on a minute, I’m not done yet’.

“I think now I can be a lot cheekier. Because I’ve always been a bit naughty. Not so much in the morning, but if I do a wee show on Channel 4, or The Last Leg, or something like that.”

She teased: “You can be unleashed. And I quite like that. You do have to have a self-edit button and I’m finding mine is not operating as much as it should.”

EastEnders’ Lorraine Stanley speaks out on grandmother assumptions after weight loss

Lorraine Stanley, known for playing Karen Taylor on EastEnders, was met with reaction after sharing a video of the BBC soap star dancing with her daughter Nancy

Former EastEnders cast member Lorraine Stanley has addressed the suggestion that she’s a grandparent. It comes after she was met with reaction from fans on TikTok after posting a video of herself dancing alongside her daughter.

Lorraine, 48, who played Karen Taylor on the BBC soap, and her fiancé Mark Perez are parents to Nancy, nine, together. She occassionally features in videos shared by the actor on the platform, with the mother and daughter often taking on dance trends at home together.

The latest, uploaded last week, saw Lorraine and Nancy perform a choreographed routine to Maroon 5 and SZA‘s song What Lovers Do. Lorraine wrote in the caption: “It’s been a while!” She included hashtags like #motherdaughter.

It’s attracted more than 40,000 likes and fans reacted to the video in the comments section. The reaction included the suggestion that Nancy was Lorraine’s granddaughter, which led the former soap star to assert that wasn’t the case.

One asked: “Is that your granddaughter?” Alongside an emoji depicting a face with rolling eyes, Lorraine replied to them: “Daughter.” In another reply, beside a laughing emoj, she wrote: “Daughter #motherdaughter is a bit of a clue.”

Someone else wrote in the comments section just days ago: “Nothing better than seeing a grandparent have that kind of fun with their grandchild.” Seemingly amused by it, Lorraine replied by sharing a trio of laughing emojis.

Lorraine – whose five stone weight loss in recent years has continued to attract attention – was also met with praise over her apppearance. It included her receiving compliments from a former colleague from EastEnders.

Shona McGarty, 33, who played Whitney Dean on the soap opera, wrote in the comments section: “Lou! Love this.” She added: “You look great!” Lorraine shared her appreciation by replying to Shona: “Thank you mate!!!! Lots of love.”

One fan wrote: “You look incredible!! Look how happy your daughter is to be doing the dances with you too. So lovely.” Another said: “You look fantastic you were always my favourite on eastenders you were so funny.”

Another said: “Oh how cute is this! & the smiles from both of you say it all. looking wonderful lady…hope you have an amazing summer.” Someone wrote: “You look great! Glad you’re happy and enjoying dancing with your family.”

Several fans asked Lorraine about her weight loss. It comes after she revealed in a post on TikTok back in April that she had gastric sleeve surgery. Lorraine suggested at the time that it took place towards the start of 2023.

Alongside photos of her from different stages of the experience, she told her followers: “It’s been over two years since I started my journey. Lots of you are asking how I did it.I hope you enjoy my little weight loss journey video.”

Lorraine gave further details in the comments section at the time. She told one fan: “I was slightly embarrassed to tell the world I’d had surgery.” She also said: “I wish I could say it was [through diet], but I did have to change my diet & still have to work hard to eat the right stuff to maintain it.”

Lorraine Kelly insists ‘I’m not done yet’ after ITV slashes her show by 30mins and takes it off air for half the year

LORRAINE Kelly has insisted that she’s ‘not done yet’ after ITV slashed her daytime show by 30 minutes.

The legendary breakfast TV host has broken her silence after the commercial broadcaster announced its daytime massacre.

Lorraine, 65, has been appearing on ITV breakfast screens for over four decades.

She joined the original breakfast TV station TV-am in 1994 as its Scotland Correspondent.

When the Camden-based company lost its licence, she was one of only a few stars who made the switch to GMTV in 1993.

Since then she has been a mainstay fixture on ITV screens in various iterations of the morning format.

However, the commercial network has announced sweeping changes to its daytime output.

From January, Lorraine will only take to the airwaves for 30 weeks of the year and for only half an hour at a time.

Following the announcement, fears rose that the veteran presenter could quit the channel entirely.

However, she insisted that she was not quite done yet when she spoke to Tom Kerridge on the Proper Tasty podcast.

“I’ve been doing telly for over 40 years. It’s mad isn’t it? It’s absolutely crazy,” Lorraine remarked.

“I started in breakfast telly in 1984, and I’m still getting away with it. Extraordinarily.

Richard Madeley was facing GMB axe before crunch talks as another HUGE star ‘is set to leave ITV’ amid cuts bloodbath

“40 years in TV last year was incredible. I got a BAFTA. “Here’s a BAFTA for being alive.” I thought, “Hang on a minute, I’m not done yet”.’

However, the star did allude that she likes to do different projects away from her

She continued: “Not so much in the morning, but if I do a wee show on Channel 4, or The Last Leg, or something like that. You can be unleashed. And I quite like that.

“You do have to have a self-edit button, and I’m finding mine is not operating as much as it should.

ITV’s daytime TV schedule changes in full

Good Morning Britain will be extended by 30 minutes to run from 6am to 9.30am daily.

Lorraine will run from 9.30am-10am, on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year.

During the weeks Lorraine is not on air, Good Morning Britain will run from 6am to 10am.

This Morning will remain in its 10am-12.30pm slot on weekdays throughout the year.

Loose Women will be in the 12.30-1.30pm slot, again on a seasonal basis for 30 weeks of the year.

The changes will take effect from January 2026.

Lorraine added: “So, when I’m sitting there and I look at something and I think, “Gosh, what an absolute k**b that person is,” or how silly they are, I say it and I don’t realise I’ve said it. So I have to watch.”

This comes after it was reported that Lorraine had refused an ‘insulting offer’ from bosses to sign a new contract.

A source explained that she declined the opportunity to merge her daytime show with Good Morning Britain, and was “prepared to walk away.”

A new role titled ‘Head of Lorraine’ has also been created to oversee the daytime changes, but the contract only lasts for 12-months.

Lorraine Kelly takes drastic measure to save show amid ITV bloodbath

ITV star Lorraine Kelly is willing to pull out all the stops to save her daytime show amid severe cuts at the broadcaster

Lorraine Kelly, 65, is fighting to save the long-term future of her show

Lorraine Kelly, 65, is fighting to save the long-term future of her show. Insiders say the TV presenter – whose programme faces major cuts in an ITV cost drive – will have to “pull out all the stops” for it to survive.

Lorraine will now air only 30 weeks a year instead of all year, with episodes cut to 30 minutes from an hour. A source said: “Lorraine was not happy about what is happening and also had concern for the production team which will be cut back too.

“But the truth is she has to roll her sleeves up and work harder on her own show than she has in recent years, otherwise the long-term future does not look good. She has been an icon of ITV but serious cuts need to be made and her show has been cut to just 30 minutes, which after ad breaks will be a very short chunk of time.

“She needs to show bosses it is worth keeping on air. You can expect her to be pulling hard to get big name celebrities on her show instead of GMB or This Morning.”

Lorraine was told her show was being cut back in a tense private meeting with bosses – and will now need to work five days a week to have a chance of keeping it on air long term.

ITV staff working on daytime were told in a meeting on Tuesday that half of the 440 production staff will go. But boss Kevin Lygo arranged for Lorraine to be told separately in the days before. Lorraine has been a telly regular for 40 years, on GMTV and Good Morning Britain before her own show in 2010.

However, she has not been hosting Friday episodes, with Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh filling in. Last week staff Lorraine returned after surgery to remove her ovaries, which she discussed on screen.

A source close to the show said: “February, March and April celebrated the highest viewing figures for three years. The show reaches 1.1 million every day and 2.7 million every week.”

The ITV cuts will also affect other daytime shows, with Loose Women rumoured to be losing up to 10 of its 26 panellists.

Good Morning Britain also faces cuts but one constant will be Susanna Reid. A source said: “She is someone ITV want to build the show around and is seen as an essential part of daytime. She is 100% safe from the cuts.”

Hundreds of staff are now in a consultation process at ITV. An ITV spokesman said: “At a time when our daytime teams are undergoing a period of change we will not comment on speculation around talent or staff contracts.

“Our intention is to keep our daytime shows as familiar to viewers as possible which includes seeing presenters they know and love.”
