Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen marries actor Hailee Steinfeld

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and “Sinners” actor Hailee Steinfeld were married on Saturday in California, according to multiple news outlets.

Last year’s NFL MVP, who grew up on a cotton farm north of Fresno, announced the couple’s engagement last November in a romantic Instagram post that showed the two embracing, with Allen down on one knee in front of a rose-covered arch in Malibu.

In photos obtained by People magazine, the couple are pictured getting married in an outdoor ceremony underneath a drapery-lined arch with California native plants in the background. Steinfeld, 28, wore a silk strapless gown paired with sheer opera gloves and a long veil attached to her top knot. Allen wore a classic tuxedo with what appears to be a white flower pinned to his lapel.

In an interview with the Associated Press last December, Allen, 29, credited Steinfeld for his successful season, which saw the Bills reach the AFC Championship only to lose to the Kansas City Chiefs. “She’s been a huge part,” he said. “The morale, the support. When I get home, she’s my biggest fan, my biggest supporter. She’s just the best.”

Steinfeld, who received an Academy Award nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category in 2011 for the Coen Brothers’ “True Grit” and appeared in the Apple TV+ series “Dickinson,” emphasized the couple’s efforts to keep their relationship out of the public eye in an interview with Who What Wear.

“When you realize that so much is already out there in every other aspect of your life, you really learn to cherish the little that isn’t. It just makes things extra special, and it’s just for you,” she said.

That might explain why details of the wedding have been kept private despite Bills offensive lineman Dion Dawkins famously spilling the beans on “Good Morning Football.” (He later backpedaled on “The Rich Eisen Show”).

And now, with their wedding rings exchanged, the devoted Bills Mafia can focus on the next bit of bling: A Super Bowl ring.

Josh Klinghoffer takes plea deal in fatal collision

Josh Klinghoffer, the former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist, accepted a plea deal after facing a vehicular manslaughter charge.

Klinghoffer, 45, was charged in the death of Israel Sanchez in March after a collision last year in Alhambra. Klinghoffer was driving a black GMC Yukon at the corner of West Main Street and South Meridian Avenue when he turned left at the intersection while 47-year-old Sanchez was walking in a marked crosswalk. Klinghoffer then struck and killed Sanchez.

On Wednesday in court in Alhambra, Klinghoffer pleaded no contest to misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence. He was sentenced to 60 days of community labor and one year of informal probation. He will also have to take a driver safety course and pay restitution.

During the hearing, the prosecutor told Klinghoffer, “If you continue to drive while distracted, and as a result of your driving someone is killed, you can be charged with murder.”

Sanchez’s family sued Klinghoffer for wrongful death after the incident, alleging that Klinghoffer was on his phone at the time of the collision. “Video of the incident shows that defendant Josh Adam Klinghoffer made no braking or slowing motion until after he fatally struck Israel Sanchez, indicating that Defendant was likely driving while distracted.”

“This horrible outcome was foreseeable and demonstrates a willful disregard for the rights and safety of others,” the suit continued.

Klinghoffer’s attorney in the civil suit, Andrew Brettler, said in a statement to The Times last year, “After Josh struck this pedestrian in the intersection, he immediately pulled over, stopped the car, called 911 and waited until police and the ambulance arrived. Obviously, he’s cooperating with the police throughout the traffic investigation. This was purely a tragic accident.”

Klinghoffer played guitar with the Red Hot Chili Peppers from 2009 to 2019, when longtime guitarist John Frusciante returned. Klinghoffer was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with the band in 2012. He has since performed as a member of Jane’s Addiction and Pearl Jam.

Foo Fighters parts ways with drummer Josh Freese

The rock band Foo Fighters has let go of drummer Josh Freese, according to a note from the veteran percussionist.

“The Foo Fighters called me Monday night to let me know they’ve decided ‘to go in a different direction with their drummer,’” Freese wrote on Instagram. “No reason was given. … Regardless, I enjoyed the past two years with them, both on and off stage, and I support whatever they feel is best for the band. In my 40 years of drumming professionally, I’ve never been let go from a band, so while I’m not angry — just a bit shocked and disappointed. But as most of you know I’ve always worked freelance and bounced between bands so, I’m fine.”

“Stay tuned for my ‘Top 10 possible reasons Josh got booted from the Foo Fighters’ list,” he joked.

A representative for the band confirmed the departure but declined to comment.

Freese is a session veteran who first came to prominence in the SoCal punk band the Vandals, and later went on to play in Guns N’ Roses, A Perfect Circle and Devo before joining Foo Fighters in 2023. He won the high-profile job after the death of beloved Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.

The band previously celebrated Hawkins in a moving tribute concert in 2022, which included Hawkins’ then-16-year-old son Shane drumming in his dad’s place on “My Hero.” More recently, singer Dave Grohl appeared with his former Nirvana bandmate, bassist Krist Novoselic, to perform at the FireAid benefit concert in Inglewood this year.

The group has not announced a new drummer. Its next scheduled performance is in Singapore on Oct. 4.

Josh Widdicombe comedy show ‘axed’ after two seasons ‘following low ratings’

A Sky comedy show featuring two huge comedians – Nish Kumar and Josh Widdicombe – has reportedly been axed after two seasons following low ratings

Sky’s Hold the Front Page has reportedly been axed

A huge Sky comedy show, featuring stars Nish Kumar and Josh Widdicombe, has reportedly been axed following low ratings.

Hold the Front Page, which began in 2022 and has two series saw the comedic duo leap into the unique and often sensational world of local news.

The pair were seen travelling across the UK working for a different newspaper each week, fulfilling a mission to find local stories strong enough to make the front page.

However, it looks like the pair failed to create a story engaging enough for viewers, as the show has reportedly been shelved, and won’t be coming back for a third season, The Sun reports.

“The irony of the scenario is not lost on the creative team behind the show, because as a comedian involved in satire Josh is often making swipes at the media,” a source told the publication.

“But he got a taste of what its like to have to report on what’s going on and realised just what a tough job it can be – particularly when you have to start out in the local press.”

The Mirror has contacted Sky for comment.

Throughout their time filming for the show, the pair visited a number of cities to get the latest scoop. During the first episode, they headed to the Isle of Wight to work for the County Press, where they met Princess Anne.

During the same series, they also took a trip to Benidorm to lead the region’s weekly British newspaper, the Euro Weekly News.

Despite their best journalistic efforts, the duo failed to impress audiences, reportedly receiving low ratings as well as poor reviews for the show.

It’s not the only stroke of bad luck Josh has had on TV recently. At the end of last year, the star appeared on Saturday Kitchen where he narrowly avoided a painful experience. During the episode in November, Matt Tebbutt was busy whipping up fondue for the comic when Josh decided to get adventurous with the equipment.

He cheekily tested the cheese-melting burner, even after host Matt had cautiously used garlic to anoint the pot before setting it beside the roaring blue flame.

The comedian and Strictly Come Dancing Christmas 2024 star couldn’t resist placing his hand directly above the flame and immediately recoiled, letting out a scream, to which Matt quickly warned, “Yeah, yeah, watch your hand!”
