ABC has removed Jimmy Kimmel Live! from its line-up indefinitely after the late-night host’s remarks about conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s death.
Its parent company, Nexstar, announced on Wednesday that the show would be pulled, beginning with that night’s episode.

They explained that the move was due to Jimmy‘s recent comments about Charlie’s killing, which they found “concerning.”
Instead, the network will air “other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets,” the statement read.
The remarks in question were made during Jimmy’s monologue on Monday night’s show, where the TV star said the “MAGA gang” was trying to “score political points” off Charlie’s murder.
He followed by mocking President Donald Trump’s reaction to the fatal incident in an interview.
Charlie was shot and killed on September 10 while on stage at a debate at Utah Valley University.
The 22-year-old shooter, Tyler Robinson, was arrested three days later.
Tyler was charged with murder and is facing the death penalty for the heinous act.
Although Jimmy’s commentary elicited some laughs from the live studio audience, viewers at home were stunned that he had gone that far.
“Jimmy is just as out of touch and delusional,” one critic commented on a video of the monologue that was shared on the show’s YouTube channel.
“My respect for Kimmel just degraded,” said another.
Stephen Colbert asks A-list audience ‘is anyone hiring-’ on Emmys stage just weeks after his show was canceled
In addition to the show’s suspension, the company demanded that Jimmy apologize to Charlie’s family and send a “meaningful personal donation” to them and Turning Point USA, an organization the father of two founded that advocates for conservative politics in high schools and colleges.
The talk show will reportedly be replaced on Friday with a Charlie Kirk tribute special on Sinclair’s ABC affiliate stations.
Just hours before Jimmy’s eyebrow-raising comments, fans applauded the TV personality for campaigning for Stephen Colbert to win the Emmy for Outstanding Talk Show Series.
Colbert did secure the win at Sunday’s 77th Primetime Emmy Awards for his hosting duties on The Late Show.

He thanked his fellow nominees, Jimmy and Jon Stewart, for pushing for fans to vote for The Colbert Report alum following ABC’s abrupt cancellation of the long-running night-time talk show.
This isn’t the first time that Jimmy has gotten himself into hot water with his controversial comments on air.
However, this is a rare event that the former Academy Awards’ host’s show has been cancelled over his stunts.
The New York native only recently returned to his desk after taking his annual summer break, and in turn, had a revolving door of celebrities fill in for him.

Aug. 18 (UPI) — A court in Hong Kong resumed closing arguments in the criminal trial of media mogul Jimmy Lai on charges of sedition and collusion with foreign powers.
The trial had paused Friday because Lai, 77, was having heart issues. Lai was given medication and a Holter monitor, which tracks the heart’s electrical activity. The trial had also been delayed Thursday because of torrential rain in the city.
Judge Esther Toh said extra breaks could be allowed for Lai if needed.
Lai, a citizen of the United Kingdom, founded Apple Daily, a Chinese-language newspaper published in Hong Kong from 1995 to 2021. The tabloid has been described as anti-government, pro-democracy and anti-China.
He is accused of collusion with foreign forces and sedition. He has been in solitary confinement since December 2020. He faces life in prison.
Prosecutors have accused Lai of requesting foreign countries to engage in “hostile activities,” such as imposing sanctions, against authorities in Hong Kong and mainland China.
He allegedly conspired with senior editorial staff of Apple Daily and was the “mastermind and financial supporter” of the Fight for Freedom; Stand with Hong Kong advocacy group, which lobbied for international sanctions against Hong Kong and China.
Lai denied in court that he had ever sought to influence the Hong Kong policies of other countries via his high-level contacts overseas, including former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence and former Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen.
Questioned about meetings with Pence and then-U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in 2019, Lai said the meeting with Pence was more of a briefing where he updated him and answered questions about what was going on in Hong Kong
Lai, who was noticeably thinner Monday than when the trial began in late 2023, was dressed in a white jacket in the glass dock and pressed his palms together in a prayer gesture several times to his family and supporters, the Independent reported.
The prosecutor discussed the security law concerning the collusion charges, arguing that the request to impose sanctions must include officials and not just states.
He planned to lay out other issues in the afternoon and make his closing statement on Tuesday.
Lai is among hundreds of people who have been detained and charged under the controversial National Security Law, which critics say have silenced dissent in Hong Kong. Beijing justifies that the law is needed to maintain stability in the city.
The 77-year-old founder of the Apple Daily newspaper is charged with foreign collusion over 2019 protests.
Hong Kong judges have postponed the trial of media tycoon Jimmy Lai until he is provided with a heart monitoring device and related medication.
Friday’s decision marked the second delay to the case this week after his lawyer said he had suffered heart palpitations.
The 77-year-old founder of the Apple Daily newspaper is charged with foreign collusion under Hong Kong’s national security law, which Beijing imposed following widespread pro-democracy protests in 2019.
Closing arguments in the long-running trial were originally expected to begin on Thursday, but all court sessions were suspended due to bad weather.
As the court resumed on Friday, defence lawyer Robert Pang said that Lai had heart “palpitations” and had experienced the feeling of “collapsing”, but added that the tycoon did not want attention to be concentrated on his health.
Lai has been kept behind bars since December 2020, reportedly in solitary confinement, and concerns have previously been raised over the septuagenarian’s welfare.
‘The world is watching’
The three-judge panel adjourned the case to Monday to allow time for prison authorities to outfit Lai with a wearable heart monitor and provide medication.
The sprawling trial, which began in December 2023, is entering its final stages as Western nations and rights groups continue to call for Lai’s release.
Aside from the collusion charge – which could land him in prison for life – Lai is also charged with “seditious publication” related to 161 op-eds carrying his byline.
The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) said on Thursday that “the world is watching how Hong Kong treats its journalists”.
“The prolonged detention of Jimmy Lai not only destroys Hong Kong’s historic reputation as a free and open society, but also as a trusted hub for business,” said CPJ regional director Beh Lih Yi.
US President Donald Trump told a Fox News radio programme on Thursday that he had previously brought up the Lai case with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“I’m going to do everything I can to save him … you could also understand President Xi would not be exactly thrilled,” the outlet quoted Trump as saying.
The Hong Kong government said on Wednesday it “strongly disapproved and rejected the slanderous remarks made by external forces” regarding Lai’s case.
Lai is a British citizen and his son Sebastien reiterated in March calls for the Keir Starmer administration to do more, saying: “I don’t want my father to die in jail.”
Two prosecution witnesses, Chan Tsz-wah and Andy Li, also accused Lai of financially backing an advocacy group that ran overseas newspaper advertisements supporting the 2019 protests.
Lai has denied calling for sanctions against China and Hong Kong and said he never advocated separatism.
Apple Daily was forced to close in 2021 after police raids and the arrests of its senior editors.
Closing arguments are due to begin in the national security trial of Jimmy Lai, 77, a fierce critic of China’s Communist Party.
United States President Donald Trump has renewed his promise to “save” jailed Hong Kong tycoon Jimmy Lai, who is on trial for alleged national security crimes over his pro-democracy activism and antipathy towards China’s Communist Party.
“I’m going to do everything I can to save him. I’m going to do everything … His name has already entered the circle of things that we’re talking about, and we’ll see what we can do,” Trump told Fox News Radio in the US.
Trump’s remarks came as closing arguments in Lai’s high-profile trial.
Closing arguments have been pushed from Friday to Monday after Lai’s lawyer said he had experienced heart palpitations.
The delay marks the second in as many days, after Hong Kong courts were closed due to bad weather.
Trump previously pledged to rescue Lai during an interview last October, just weeks before his election as president, and had said he would “100 percent get him out”.
Lai is one of the most prominent Hong Kongers to be charged under the city’s draconian 2020 national security law, and his cause has made international headlines.
The 77-year-old is a longtime opponent of China’s Communist Party thanks to his ownership of Apple Daily, a now-shuttered pro-democracy tabloid newspaper.
Thank you, President Trump, for your support for Jimmy Lai at this critical time.

He is facing two counts of “colluding with foreign forces” and a separate charge of sedition in the long-running national security trial that began in December 2023.
If found guilty, he could spend the rest of his life in prison. He has always protested his innocence.
Lai was first arrested in 2020, just months after Beijing imposed the new national security law on Hong Kong, which criminalised the city’s pro-democracy movement and categorised public protests as acts of secession, subversion and terrorism.
The law was later expanded in 2024 to include further crimes such as espionage and sabotage.
Lai has been in detention continuously since December 2020 and is serving separate prison sentences for participating in a banned candlelight vigil and committing “fraud” on an office lease agreement.
He has spent more than 1,600 days in solitary confinement, according to the United Kingdom-based Hong Kong Watch, despite his age and health complications.
Lai was also denied the lawyer of his choice during trial and access to independent medical care.
Newbury Park will begin the football season without standout linebacker Balen Betancourt, who is recovering from off-season knee surgery, along with several receiver transfers who will be sitting out until Sept. 29.
The Panthers are expected to be much better after their fifth game but still have enough to get through an improved nonleague schedule with All-American quarterback Brady Smigiel leading the way. That was coach Joe Smigiel’s prediction during a Conjeo Coast League media gathering on Thursday.
“I felt like Cam Rising.” Brady Smigiel used to be the ball boy when Cam Rising was playing quarterback for Newbury Park and running around. https://t.co/dNPzph2D1z
Newbury Park’s new offensive coordinator is alumnus Cam Rising, the former Utah quarterback.
“He’s amazing,” Smigiel said. “He brings so much to the table.”
Interesting note: Smigiel and Betancourt have been playing together since fourth grade. Betancourt drives from Ventura. He played for Smigiel’s father, Joe, growing up.
Instead of creating a lemonade stand, Calabasas’ Hardy brothers could open up a sporting goods stand considering all the footballs around the house. Dezmyn Hardy is a 6-foot-5 senior receiver. Brother Dominik is a junior quarterback. And there’s their brothers ages 12 and 9. Dezmyn said he estimates at least 15 footballs are available to use.
The passing duo should be outstanding this season. Both have continued to grow and add weight. Dominik passed for 2,117 yards and 22 touchdowns last season, when Dezmyn had 53 catches and seven touchdowns.
Calabasas has the makings of a dynamic offensewith receiver Kingston Celifie and running back Kayne Miller, who rushed for more than 1,200 yards. Miller’s twin brothers are walk-ons at USC.

There’s lots to like about 6-foot-4, 270-pound senior offensive tackle Malachi Johnson, the reigning league lineman of the year from Santa Barbara. For one, he says he hasn’t allowed a sack in two years. He also wants to find a college program that’s about family more than business.
He has long blond hair that he began growing out in 2020 during the COVID era and hasn’t cut it since other than occasional small trims. He has excellent grades and could become a much-desired blocker if he starts well this season.
New Thousand Oaks coach Branden Anderson got to coach Smigiel last season. Now he gets to work with Thousand Oaks quarterback Jackson Taylor, a Boise State commit. He said he feels fortunate and both have similar qualities when it comes to being accurate with strong arms.
As for Taylor’s offseason, he said, “There’s a lot of stuff mechanically I wanted to clean up. Also pocket presence is a big thing for me.”
First-year Westlake coach Rick Clausen has been around some good head coaches during his playing and assistant coaching careers (Nick Saban, Jumbo Fisher, Bill Redell). He said he’ll take things he learned from everyone.
The Clausen family is known for working with quarterbacks since he and brothers Casey and Jimmy were quarterbacks.
He was asked who’s the quarterback coach this season: “As of right now, it’s me. When Jimmy shows up, I’ll pass the torch to him. When Casey shows up, I’ll pass the torch to him. It’s a committee.”
Westlake will have one of the most promising freshman quarterbacks in Ford Green, a 6-2, 195-pounder who was impressive in a spring appearance.
Rio Mesa is turning to 6-3 tight end Alec Fontyn to take over quarterback duties from the graduated J.J. Bittner, a four-year starter.
Fontyn, also an outfielder for the baseball team, played quarterback earlier in his career and has been a two-sport standout since freshman season.
Jimmy Doherty has been a familiar face on our TV screens for more than 20 years and he is back with a new series this weekend

Jimmy Doherty first graced our television screens over two decades ago, featuring in his best mate Jamie Oliver‘s cooking programmes.
After training to be a pig farmer, he established his own farm and founded the Essex Pig Company, which became the focus of the reality TV documentary, Jimmy’s Farm.
These days, Jimmy juggles his farming duties with his television career, and this weekend he’s in the new Channel 4 show, Jimmy Doherty’s Big Bear Rescue.
The programme follows Jimmy, 50, at his Suffolk farm and wildlife refuge, where he welcomes some homeless polar bears, a pack of wolves, and two brown bears looking for their forever homes.
All of the action is filmed on his sprawling 70-acre family farm. He shares this idyllic setting with his telly producer wife Michaela Furney and their four daughters, not to mention a host of pets. Let’s delve into his life, reports Essex Live.
Enjoying life at Jimmy’s Farm(Image: Shared Content Unit)
Early life
Born in Ilford before relocating to Essex at three years old, Jimmy struck up a friendship with a young Jamie Oliver at primary school, and they’ve remained close ever since.
He’s always had a passion for animals and wildlife, and from the tender age of 13, he worked in the tropical butterfly house at Mole Hall Wildlife Park in Saffron Walden, helping care for a variety of animals ranging from otters to chimpanzees.
Jimmy pursued animal biology at university and served for five years in the Royal Corps of Signals. He later trained as a pig farmer and now owns his own farm and operates The Essex Pig Company.
TV star wife and daughters
Jimmy Doherty’s wife, Michaela Furney, first crossed paths with her future husband while working as a runner on Jamie Oliver’s show, Jamie’s Kitchen, back in 2002. The shoot led her to the Cumbrian farm where Jimmy was employed at the time.
Michaela eventually chose to leave her bustling London career behind to embrace farm life with Jimmy. In a candid chat with MailOnline, she reflected: “One of the biggest things was giving up my career; I was very focused and it was a good lifestyle. But it was my decision: Jim didn’t put any pressure on me.”
With wife Michaela(Image: Getty Images)
Although she stepped away from TV production, Michaela found herself in front of the lens for the documentary series, Jimmy’s Farm. Initially resistant to the idea due to the intrusive nature of filming, she confessed: “We’re just normal people and the attention can be scary and hurtful,” adding, “I was still commuting when they began filming, so at first I thought I wouldn’t be involved – that was how Jim persuaded me.”
She also revealed the emotional toll of being filmed: “They used lots of shots of me crying, but it was just in frustration at all the setbacks, the worst of which were the fights with the council over planning permission [for outbuildings and, retrospectively, the shop]. I don’t cry that often – they just seemed to catch it on camera every time I did.”
The couple tied the knot in August 2009 with a reception held at their farm, and they have since become doting parents to four daughters.
Showbiz pals
Since their primary school days, Jimmy and Jamie Oliver have remained steadfast mates, presenting television programmes together such as Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast, whilst pursuing various other joint ventures – and remarkably, they appear never to have had a serious falling-out (save for the occasional spat during TV challenges).
Jimmy’s with best pal Jamie(Image: Channel 4)
It was actually Jimmy who played cupid, introducing Jamie to his future wife Jools when he was just 18. Speaking to MailOnLine, Jimmy recalled: “We went on a double date to the cinema in Cambridge – me, Jamie, Juliette and Sue Stump. He had a Fiesta with big fog lights and an exhaust like a tractor on it. We were going over a hill listening to Bob Marley, Buffalo Soldier. We’re all singing, the guy braked in front of us and Jamie smashed into him and knocked his front lights out.”
Their profound friendship was particularly touching when Jamie dedicated his book, Jamie Cooks Italy, to Jimmy’s late father. Jimmy revealed: “There’s a picture of him at my brother’s wedding on there. Jamie gave me the book and I’m used to my dad being dead, but sorrow is a weird thing. I couldn’t control it, I had to go away on my own. Then I came back and said thank you and it started again. But luckily I had an eye infection so I could blame it on that. Pink eyes, weeping.”
Jimmy on his farm(Image: Submitted)
On the farm
Jimmy’s Suffolk farm, which serves as the backdrop for the ITV series Jimmy and Shivi’s Farmhouse Breakfast, is rather extraordinary given its collection of exotic creatures, including polar bears and monkeys – the website actually claims it’s Europe’s largest polar bear reserve. In a chat with the Express, he shared: “And then you’ve got the wildlife park where we’ve got polar bears, we’ve got monkeys, we’ve got our anteaters. So we do different activities with them.
“One morning we played hide and seek with our monkeys. We hid all their food around and they had to go and find it. And I remember that for the camera system, it took him about 15 minutes trying to get the GoPro in this special box and tighten it all up. It took the monkey about five seconds to undo or and grab the camera, bite it and run off with it. But we’ve got some brilliant monkey selfies!”

Football fans could see a familiar face on the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor this year – as former Leeds player Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has reportedly been signed to compete on the BBC show

With the 2025 season of Strictly Come Dancing just weeks away from launching, more stars are being linked to the show – with a premiere league icon the latest to be tipped to star. Former Leeds United star Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is said to be swapping soccer for sequins as a contestant on the long-running BBC show.
The 53-year-old Dutch sportsman stands to be the latest in a long line of football legends to take to the Strictly dancefloor. He would follow the likes of Robbie Savage,Alex Scott and Tony Adams to bid for Glitterball Trophy victory.
The former striker was hired as a coach for the England national team in 2023, but stepped away from responsibilities in August last year following manager Gareth Southgate’s exit last August. With time on his hands, it is suggested Jimmy could be among the celebrities taking part in Strictly this year.
A source told The Sun: “Jimmy has a huge fanbase from his years playing in the Premier League and is a very likeable character. Show producers are always keen to book a retired footballer as it gets footie fans tuning into the series and becoming unlikely fans of the show.
“Jimmy has a competitive edge and is going to get his head in the game.” The Mirror has contacted representatives of Jimmy and the BBC for comment.
Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke are expected to return as judges(Image: BBC/Guy Levy)
Olympian Sir Mo Farah, Gladiators star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey – better known as Nitro – and former Big Brother contestant Yinrun Huang are among stars tipped to appear in the upcoming new season.
Judges Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke are all set to return for the 2025 season – which will be the 23rd in the long history of the show. But after the past two years, bosses are said to be worried about fresh scandal hitting the show.
Stirctly has been dragged into disrepute in recent years amid accusations that professional dancers have been physically abusive to their celebrity dance partners. While the celebs have also been accused of offensive behaviour.
Earlier this year, it was reported BBC bosses are practically paralyzed by a “terrible, terrible fear” that more scandal will hit the show – and there have been attempts to clean up the image of the series – and this could also impact star signings.
It has been suggested the BBC are taking steps to go risk free and leaving no stone unturned to make sure the line-up is as safe as possible for the 2025 season. Blue Peter presenters Joel Mawhinney and Shini Muthukrishnan are said to be under consideration – as is Tom Parker Bowles, the son of Queen Camilla.
“There is a terrible, terrible fear among those high up that these awful things are going to keep happening and the show will be brought into disrepute again and again,” one well-place BBC insider has told MailOnline. “With that in mind, they are taking no chances.
“There will be stringent checks, and asking around, and digging into potential stars’ backgrounds to make sure that they’re not choosing anyone who might damage the show. For years, there was the whole Strictly “curse” where the contestants and professionals kept having affairs. But that stopped.
“Changes were made to the partnerships and it worked. There have been other issues in the past couple of years, though. What’s been even more embarrassing for the BBC is that Wynne and Jamie have been from their own stable of stars. Going forward, those at the top want a wholesome image to shine through. No more scandal – just joy.”
The report came after 2024 contestant Jamie Borthwick, who is known for playing Jay Brown in the BBC soap EastEnders, was forced to issue a groveling apology after footage was reportedly uncovered showing him making derogatory comments about the people of Blackpool.
Known for their dreamy, guitar-heavy instrumental tracks that fuse Latin music with Western sounds, the Ecuadorian-Swiss duo will take a break from their current European tour to make their national television debut on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Tuesday, June 24.
“We are incredibly honored to be performing on national TV for the very first time,” Hermanos Gutiérrez told The Times. “Sharing our music with the world means so much to us, and we can’t wait to step onto that stage.”
The siblings, Estevan and Alejandro Gutiérrez, released their sixth studio album, “Sonido Cósmico,” last summer to critical acclaim. It was the second consecutive LP produced by Dan Auerbach, the Black Keys frontman, and released via his record label, Easy Eye Sound.
Hermanos Gutiérrez were tapped to perform at Coachella last year and recently had sold-out performances at L.A.’s Greek Theatre and Mexico City’s Teatro Metropólitan.
The band announced on Instagram in April that they were following their summer tour across Europe with a 12-date turn across the U.S. Hermanos Gutiérrez will bring their psychedelic atmospheric sound to California with a stop in Saratoga on Sept. 19, followed by a show in Ojai the following night.
The duo recently collaborated with Mexican singer-songwriter Natalia Lafourcade on her latest album, “Cancionera,” and will be featured in Adrian Quesada’s upcoming “Boleros Psicodélicos II,” which will be released on June 27.
Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack proclaimed “with Jimmy we feel we absolutely got the right guy” as he spoke mid lap of honour around the Hampden pitch.
Thelin showed a tactical awareness coming into the final. He gave his players two days off for him to come up with a game plan to topple Celtic – and it worked.
A change in personnel, a change in system, a change of approach anchored in pragmatism. No wonder given how Brendan Rodgers’ team had dismantled Thelin’s men at will on occasion this season.
The Swede also demonstrated bravery in doing so. To recognise something isn’t working is one thing. To do it and roll the dice as you stand on the brink of history, it’s quite something.
It’s a gamble that has paid off to the tune of immortality and £6m, the latter coming with the guarantee of European football until December in either the Europa or Conference League.
How much of it Thelin gets to invest remains to be seen – not least given he was backed heavily in January – but he’s earned the right to go again with this Aberdeen team with a sense of optimism behind him.
Cormack was persistent in his pursuit of Thelin and his man has presided over a maiden season that began with a blistering run and closed with a trophy in the cabinet. One that’s not resided there for a generation.
The frostiness of a winter of dismay will thaw out in the glow of a Union Street bus parade on Sunday.
Post mortems about being dismembered by St Mirren will be marked as an irrelevance amid the glory, all lost in a sea of red and white flags and scarves.
There will be a new set of challenges ahead for Thelin and his team – and a new set of expectations. But that’s for another day.
After this season and the most draining of days, the Pittodrie manager deserves to live in the here and now. Even just for a moment.
“You see how much it means to everyone,” he told BBC Scotland.
“That’s why football is so amazing. To be strong in the difficult times, keep believing and keep trying everything you channel every day.
One may be the loneliest number, but No. 2 is what sent Shaquille O’Neal urgently mincing off the “Inside the NBA” stage last month while the cameras kept running.
O’Neal copped to the truth Thursday night during his 18th appearance on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon,” giving what might be more detail than anyone needed about that sudden departure in April.
First, he clung to the fib, saying, “I was drinking a lot of water that day. So I know I had the No. 2 run, but it was really a No. 1. So let’s just get that out of the way.”
He explained he was drinking olive oil at the time “to be sexy,” because he’d seen on Instagram that if he drank olive oil daily for 14 days, he would clean out his system and have a flat stomach. “So I was trying that.”
A laughing Fallon held his face in his hands.
“You know what,” O’Neal said. “I just made a mistake. I lied to you on national TV. It wasn’t a No. 1 run. It was a No. 2 run. I had to go bad. Oh, I had to go so bad.”
Fallon begged him to keep telling the lie. O’Neal asked whether the host had seen him squeezing his butt cheeks as he scooted away from the “Inside the NBA” desk.
Then Fallon showed a photo of what the crew did to O’Neal the next day: It put a blue porta-potty in studio on his side of the table.
Blessedly, the conversation then moved in a different direction.
Things were a bit more serious but no less amusing back in April when O’Neal got up while a co-host was in the middle of talking and — in a big hurry — walked awkwardly in front of his fellow panelists and out the stage door. Ernie Johnson Jr., Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley weren’t sure what was going on.
“You all right, big fella?” Barkley asked with a look of concern on his face.
As the camera (cruelly) followed him, O’Neal blurted to his co-hosts to “go ahead, keep talking” while one reminded him, “Hey, we’re on TV.”
“It’s that olive oil you’ve been drinking,” Barkley said. “Hey, take some matches with you.”
As the remaining hosts broke into giggles, Kenny Smith said, “After 40, you can’t hold it no more.”
“That wasn’t something planned, was it?” Ernie Johnson Jr. wondered.
Smith also noted that O’Neal had been drinking olive oil to clean out his system, saying, “Oh, he’s cleaning out his gut all right!”
“I did not like his gait as he left!” Johnson said.
And Barkley simply couldn’t move past the idea of the smell.
“Please turn his mic off, that’s all,” Smith quipped. Then, as Smith tried to return to talking about L.A. Clippers forward Kawhai Leonard, the team in TNT’s Studio J came through with the instant replay of Shaq bailing out. Instant. Freaking. Replay.
IN SLO-MO.
The three very professional analysts immediately began very professional analysis of O’Neal’s shambolic gait.
The big man returned fairly soon after that, mumbling something about drinking too much water and about Barkley talking way too long when he really needed to cut to a break.
“Sorry about that, America,” he said.
Seriously Shaq, you have absolutely no reason to apologize. As long as you remember the matches.
Now we know what it takes for Jimmy Kimmel to skip a night of work: One of his babies has to have a baby.
Kimmel became a grandfather earlier this week when his oldest daughter gave birth to a girl. In his monologue Tuesday, he joked about his oldest daughter’s age.
“We were supposed to have a show last night, but we didn’t because my daughter had a baby last night. People don’t realize — people know I have two little kids,” he said. “I also have two older kids. My oldest daughter, she’s 83 years old, her name is Katie.”
He also praised Guillermo as a great doula, telling his sidekick, “You were reassuring, you were calm, your hands were so soft.” So you can tell how serious he was being.
Kimmel said it was only the second night, excluding planned vacations and the COVID-19 lockdowns, that he’d taken off in the show’s 22-year history.
Katie and Kevin Kimmel, 33 and 31, are Jimmy’s kids from his 14-year marriage to Gina Kimmel, which ended in 2002.
Kimmel’s kids from his marriage to writer Molly McNearney, whom he married in 2013, are Jane, 10, and Billy, 8. Billy was born with a heart condition that has been discussed regularly on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Katie wed Will Logsdon in 2021.
As for Katie Kimmel’s new baby, proud grandpa Jimmy said she’s “very healthy.” Then he went on to joke about her name, which he stated was Melania, then Melania Thee Stallion, then — in a phone call with his Aunt Chippy — Jo Mama, then Jo Mama Kevin Logsdon.
It was after that last one that Aunt Chippy said, “She didn’t name the baby that! You know, if you don’t stop busting my b—, I swear to God when I die I’m going to come back and haunt you!”
Kimmel then said the name was actually Brangelina, prompting Chippy to order him to hand the phone to his mother.
The baby’s actual name, though, is Patti Joan. “Joan” is in honor of Jimmy Kimmel’s mom, Katie’s paternal grandma.
The talk-show host also started riffing on things he’d learned from his grandfathers and brainstorming things he would have to teach little Patti Joan. Things like shoplifting, skipping traffic by impersonating law enforcement and shooting out one’s bottom dentures like a cash-register drawer.
“You know WD-40?” Kimmel asked the studio audience. “You have to teach them about that.”

ABC pulls Jimmy Kimmel Live! off air indefinitely in unprecedented move after host’s comments about Charlie Kirk’s death

Current Late-Night Shows
Late-night shows have become a staple on American television, filled with humorous takes on news, interviews with guests, and music performances.
Jimmy is one of the longest-running hosts of late-night TV, with Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s debut in 2003.

The family-of-four can be seen enjoying a lakeside getaway in the fun snap on their holiday wearing casual summer gear.
Comedian Fallon and his loved ones threw their arms in the air and struck some comedy poses in the playful shot.
His partner Juvonen flashed a peace sign and wrapped an arm around her daughter, wearing a pastel cross-over stripped dress.
“This is before my sister-in-law said, ‘a little less,’” Fallon joked in his caption.
Famous friends commented on the cute photo with a string of heart emojis, including Camila Cabello, Paris Hilton, while Ellen DeGeneres liked the snap.
Fans praised: “Beautiful family.”
A second added: “Awesome family post!”
A third agreed: “Such a joy to see a happy and loved Jimmy’s family.”
When Fallon is not in the studio, he can often be found at home, spending time with his wife, Nancy and Frances and Winnie.
The fun family moment comes nearly a year after Fallon opened up about fatherhood in an interview with Parents magazine.
He admitted that becoming a dad has completely reshaped his outlook on life and work.
“I used to work hard on my career for myself. Now it’s about my kids,” he explained.
“I want to show them they can be creative, enjoy the process, and do what makes them happy — not for money or praise, but for the love of it.”
The TV star is best known for his long-standing talk show on NBC’s The Tonight Show.
The stand-up comedian, television host, actor, writer, and singer was born on September 19, 1974, in Bay Ridge, New York.
He first gained recognition as a cast member on Saturday Night Live but later became a household name in 2014 after taking over The Tonight Show following Jay Leno’s departure.
Fallon’s extensive career in the entertainment industry has helped him amass a $70 million fortune, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
He has also written several books and two comedy albums.
In 1998, he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live and remained there until 2004.
Jimmy’s big break came in 2009 when he landed his own talk show, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.
In May last year The Tonight Show aired a special two-hour program to celebrate Fallon’s 10th anniversary on the show.

Trial of Hong Kong press mogul Jimmy Lai resumes closing arguments

Hong Kong tycoon Jimmy Lai’s trial delayed over health concerns | News

Trump promises to ‘save’ jailed Hong Kong media tycoon Jimmy Lai | Donald Trump News
A verdict in his trial is expected within days.

Conejo Coast media day: Newbury Park trusts Brady Smigiel & Co.
Malachi Johnson of Santa Barbara was the Conejo Coast lineman of the year last season.
(Eric Sondheimer / Los Angeles Times)

Inside Jimmy Doherty’s life with famous wife, four daughters pet polar bears and showbiz pals
Early life
Born in Ilford before relocating to Essex at three years old, Jimmy struck up a friendship with a young Jamie Oliver at primary school, and they’ve remained close ever since.
Jimmy Doherty’s Big Bear Rescue is on Channel 4 on Sunday, July 20 at 8pm

Football legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink ‘latest star to be signed for Strictly 2025’
Football fans could see a familiar face on the Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor this year – as former Leeds player Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has reportedly been signed to compete on the BBC show
22:49, 21 Jun 2025Updated 22:59, 21 Jun 2025
With the 2025 season of Strictly Come Dancing just weeks away from launching, more stars are being linked to the show – with a premiere league icon the latest to be tipped to star. Former Leeds United star Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is said to be swapping soccer for sequins as a contestant on the long-running BBC show.
The 53-year-old Dutch sportsman stands to be the latest in a long line of football legends to take to the Strictly dancefloor. He would follow the likes of Robbie Savage, Alex Scott and Tony Adams to bid for Glitterball Trophy victory.
Georgia Toffolo – the I’m a Celebrity Jungle Queen – is reportedly being lined up, as is Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts. Newly married former Love Island star Dani Dyer is being considered, it has been reported, with former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan another name high up on bosses’ list.

Hermanos Gutiérrez to perform on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’
Hermanos Gutiérrez are heading to late night.

Scottish Cup final: Jimmy Thelin feels warmth of Aberdeen fans again after cold winter
“We have a lot to look forward to.”

Shaquille O’Neal drops a bomb on Jimmy Fallon: It was No. 2

Jimmy Kimmel’s a grandpa after oldest daughter gives birth
