Highlights for the celebs included programmes like Race Across the World, Faking It, Celebrity Bridge of Lies, Silence Is Golden, Big Zuu and AJ Tracey’s Rich Flavours, Canal Boat Diaries, and ITV News – Trump and Musk.

Nonetheless, viewers at home didn’t reserve their comments on the celebrity take of the show, stating that this edition seemed a bit too ‘forced’.

Disgruntled opinions quickly poured in via X, previously known as Twitter, with one individual posting: “Not the dreaded celebrities again, so many of them are so annoying #Celebritygogglebox.”

Amy Childs’ concerned pals work out real reason she’s called off wedding

TOWIE star Amy Childs’ friends are worried about her relationship after she postponed her wedding to fiancé Billy Delbosq for the second time

Amy Childs has left friends and fans worried after calling off her wedding to fiancé Billy Delbosq for the second time, sparking rumours of relationship troubles among those who are close to her. The former beautician, who shot to fame on The Only Way Is Essex nearly 15 years ago, became a household name thanks to her larger-than-life personality — and introducing the public to the concept of ‘vajazzling’.

After a romantic past full of ups and downs, Amy, 34, seemed to have finally found lasting love with Billy, a fellow reality star who once appeared on Channel 4 ’s First Dates. The couple got engaged in 2023 after welcoming twins Billy River and Amelia Mae.

But last month she postponed their wedding again, after already delaying it last year over doubts about whether Billy was truly ready to tie the knot.

This latest cancellation has caused speculation that not all is well in their relationship. Friends close to the couple have voiced their fears, with one source telling the Daily Mail : “Billy has always been a player. He’s one of the biggest players in Essex…now there are fears that all is not well, that something could have happened between them.”

Fuel was added to the fire when Amy was spotted in Brentwood looking visibly thinner and not wearing her engagement ring. However, another source close to the couple insisted the pair are still going strong, and suggested she only removed the ring to work out.

In the paparazzi snaps that sparked concern, she was indeed dressed in gym gear. However, Amy and Billy were also seen at Stansted Airport on Thursday while en route to Spain for TOWIE filming, looking “preoccupied and unsmiling”. One pal admitted: “They usually seem so happy together. This time they looked really down in the dumps, neither particularly looked like they wanted to be there.”

Behind the scenes, Amy has been privately coping with a family crisis. She recently told The Mirror that her mum Julie, who has also made appearances on TOWIE, suffered from a heart attack in April and had to be rushed to hospital for emergency surgery.

She added: “It has been intensely stressful. None of us was expecting Mum to have a heart attack – it turned our world upside down.

“It was so frightening. She had a stent put in and was in hospital for six days. She’s now home but she’s being monitored daily and is on a lot of medication. It’s so tough for her – she sometimes struggles to walk upstairs.”

Amy and Billy made the difficult decision to postpone their September wedding at Cliveden House in Berkshire. The TOWIE star explained: “It’s upsetting, but I know we’ve made the right decision. Right now, we’re focused on looking after Mum.”

In response to the online abuse over her weight loss, Amy hit back, saying: “People don’t know what is going on behind closed doors…To be honest I do feel better when I’m a bit heavier than I am at the moment. There’s so much going on – it’s the result of pure stress.”

Despite facing these heart breaking family challenges, Amy is still hopeful that her and Billy will be able to get married abroad next year, and have planned for their kids to play a special role in the wedding. She concluded: “We just want it to be amazing, not rushed.”

I’m A Celebrity star ‘signs up’ for Celebrity Bake Off alongside two huge celebs

A former star of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here has reportedly signed up for the latest edition of the Bake Off in a Stand Up To Cancer special

The latest famous face to be signed up for the Great British Bake Off is said to have been confirmed. Former I’m A Celebrity star Babatunde Aleshe has reportedly agreed to another reality TV show following his stint in the jungle.

The comedian, 38, starred on the ITV show Down Under in 2022, and is now said to be ready to test his culinary skills. It’s claimed Babatunde will take part in the Stand Up To Cancer special of the hit Channel 4 show.

“Babatunde is guaranteed to be hilarious and will no doubt have plenty of banter with Paul, Noel, Caroline and Alison,” a source said.

Speaking to the Sun, the TV insider continued: “‘He’s not known for his prowess in the kitchen so there’s sure to be some panicky moments laced with the good humour he’s known for.

“His energy on the Gogglebox sofa has always been pure positivity and very infectious, and bosses are hoping he’ll bring that to the tent.”

Other names reportedly signed up for the unique edition include JoJo Siwa. and Molly Mae Hague. Hot on the heels of her Celebrity Big Brother appearance – where she met Chris Hughes – the Dance Moms star is claimed to be set for another UK reality TV show.

The 22-year-old American singer boosted her profile on the opposite side of the Atlantic in April when she was a contestant on ITV’s Celebrity Big Brother – she already had a huge stateside following.

Now it has been reported that JoJo will be popping up on Channel 4 and testing out her culinary skills. A source claimed: “This is a bit of a coup for the Bake Off because Jojo is currently one of the most talked about young stars on TV right now.

“She’s barely had time to catch her breath, leaving CBB last month amid huge media attention and heading straight into another huge show this month. It’s also a fantastic gig for her because although she already has a fanbase over here, the cookery contest also introduces her to a wider British audience,” the source added to The Sun.

“Plus she got plenty of experience of cooking in front of the cameras while she was on Celebrity Big Brother, though this time she won’t have hunky Chris to distract her.”

JoJo and Chris’ budding friendship stole the show in the Big Brother house. Speculation was rife they were more than just friends, with JoJo revealed to have dumped fiance Kath Ebbs at the wrap party.

Snaps have since emerged of the singer kissing the 32-year-old former Love Island star while they were on holiday together in Mexico. They have continued to pair special mentions to each other on social media following their exit from the CBB house.

Fans hoping for a HayRay reunion on Hollyoaks could be in luck according to the stars playing the pair.

Lucas Hay and Dillon Ray have been on and off for a while now, and every time it seems like they’re back together something gets in the way. At a time where both characters are facing traumatic events in their lives, fans are hoping the pair will lean on each other and get through it all.

But will HayRay, as they are known to adoring fans, finally get their romance back on track and be together? Cast members Nathaniel Dass and Oscar Curtis spoke exclusively to The Mirror about the big scenes ahead that could see the pair finally happy.

While Lucas actor Oscar joked it may be short-lived, he did say he was sure there was happier times ahead for the on/off couple. With fans sure they are meant to be together, Dillon star Nathaniel teased there would be a “storm brewing” and “conflict” ahead, but that it could be the moment the pair get things on track.

Of course we requested to speak to the pair together, with them agreeing it was a must. Speaking at the British Soap Awards 2025, they initially remained coy over whether HayRay were back.

Nathaniel said: “We can’t tell you that,” with Oscar jibing: “You’d ruin the fun.” Nathaniel then explained: “The beauty of Lucas and Dillon is you don’t know. It’s amazing when we are together and it’s crushing when we’re not, and I think thats’ fun.

“We can’t say what happens and what doesn’t but we know it’s exciting.” Oscar went on: “There’s always something brewing, there’s always a storm. The fans want the calm but the storm is always fun, and it makes it work.”

On the couple being so on and off, Nathaniel told us: “It’s the ups and the downs as well. When one character is up the other one is down, and when you think one character’s ready for a relationship, the other one’s not. That’s where the chaos works and where it shows, and it’s hard as they are completely different characters and so they’re never on the same page.”

On whether there is a future for HayRay, Oscar teased: “I’m sure there will be.” Nathaniel then shared: “Let’s hope so. It will be lovely to see, even if it’s only for a little bit,” as Oscar joked: “Yeah, at least two weeks.”

Joking aside, Oscar and Nathaniel are keen to see their characters reconcile for good and make their relationship work. Nathaniel said: “We had it for a little bit and hopefully can get back to that.”

Oscar has been keeping an eye on the fan reaction too, before feeding back to his co-star about what fans are saying. He told us: “I’m on social media every day. If I see something I don’t like I’m like, ‘never mind’.” Nathaniel said it was “nice to hear the positive stuff” fans share about the couple.

With that Oscar declared: “Hashtag HayRay,” with his pal adding: “HayRay forever.” Oscar then revealed “conflict” would be ahead on the show with Dillon agreeing, but both stars confirmed fans will see the characters together a lot more, no doubt sparking hopes the pair will finally make it work.

Nathaniel told us: “There’s conflict but there’s a lot more. As characters we haven’t spent a lot of time on screen together but you are definitely gonna see a lot more of us together after this.

“There’s the calming down and processing of what’s happened, and then you’ll see a lot more of them.” Oscar concluded: “Let’s put it this way, HayRay might be back for now.”

Hollyoaks is available to stream on Channel 4’s streaming service now, while it also airs Mondays to Wednesdays on E4 at 7PM. * Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads .

Iconic Grand Designs ‘perfect’ house which couple spent 20 years ‘painstakingly’ renovating hits market for £1.5million

AN iconic Grand Designs house dubbed “perfect” by fans has hit the market for £1.5million after 20 years of “painstaking” renovation.

Green Dragon Barn, in South Hams, Devon, was forged from three connected barns by couple Sue Charman and Martin Whitlock.

The pair took on the mammoth renovation task in 2001, when the property also featured on Kevin McCloud’s show.

After 20 years the eco-project has been completed, but is now listed for sale.

The decision came after Sue sadly died in 2023, and Martin chose to embark on a new chapter elsewhere.

When Grand Designs host Kevin re-visited the five-bedroom home, after last seeing it in 2001, he said: “This is a home lovingly, painstakingly, time-consumingly transformed.

“Resplendent with 20 years of devoted care.”

Martin explained: “The revisit in 2021 was a delight – we were completely ready and the house was looking at its best.

“A complete absence of drama! Of course things were very different back in 2000. We were racing against the clock and the weather, and the programme makers made the most of that.”

The homeowner told how they chose the house in 2000 because they wanted to near the sea, and Totnes.

“The barn was a complete wreck – actually three barns built together over three centuries, and a bigger project than we were planning, but it allowed us to really go to town and create some stunning rooms,” he added.

The couple enlisted the help of architect Adrian Slocombe, of Earthway Design, to navigate how to build on the sloping landscape.

Despite dedicating two decades to the renovation, Martin said the couple relished in the adventure.

“Although it took 20 years, it wasn’t 20 years of work on the house,” he said.

“We moved into two rooms in 2001 and gradually expanded out from there as we found time to do the work in our busy lives.

“So every so often there would be new rooms or features to enjoy. A real adventure.”

The property boasts a large kitchen area which connects to an incredible 30-foot reception – kitted out with an oak floor and wood burning stove.

Potential buyers will also be able to enjoy an atrium and grand hall with dramatic pillar features.

As well as a utility room, there’s a stone larder and box room for more storage.

Upstairs, there’s four spacious bedrooms, two of which offer en-suit shower rooms, as well as a shared family bathroom.

And, one of Martin’s favourite areas is a huge vaulted room that lies beneath the thatch roof.

While creating the stunning renovation, the couple wanted to focus on keeping the project environmentally friendly.

Martin said: “Sue was passionate about environmental issues and we were determined to make the house as natural and sustainable as possible.

“It was a matter of principle but also very much in the spirit of the building.

“So the house is eco-conscious in its use of traditional, natural materials such as lime, stone, cob, slate and thatch, but is also highly insulated, has modern double glazing, a reed bed, a heat recovery system and a wood pellet boiler.”

Outside, the property boasts a private driveway which leads to a large parking and turning area in front of the house and garage.

Green Dragon Barn is now listed for sale by Stags at a guide price of £1,500,000.

Grand Designs’ most ‘bizarre’ house ever leaves fans raging

By

GRAND Designs’ most ‘bizarre’ house ever has left fans raging – as a pensioner builds a £600k replica of her own house.

In the latest episode of the property show 82-year-old Kathryn decided to build a 21st-century mirror image of her Edwardian home with a budget of £607,000 but she soon run into trouble.

The episode centred around Kathryn, who decided to move out of her home in North London following the death of her late husband.

Speaking to host Kevin McCloud, she said that she could no longer look after her home and that she couldn’t cope due to the stairs.

With the help of her son Gordon, Kathryn explained that she wanted to build a mirror image of her house right next door.

Fans of the show couldn’t understand the widow’s decision and slammed her decision as ridiculous.

“That was one ridiculous, overpriced, unnecessary, rip off builds I’ve seen in the history of this show.

“There’s skullduggery at play here, isn’t there Gordon?!” said one viewer.

Another added: “Omg 900k, would love to know the value now?

“Surely they could have updated the original, made the side a plot of land to sell to help with the costs #GrandDesigns.”

A third stated: “Nah that exterior is awful good lord. 900k??? Could have just fired a stair lift in her old place.”

While another fan added: “Oh dear, overpriced disaster imo. Should have just moved. All that money and already owned the land!”

During the show it was revealed that Kathryn had gone over budget by 100k due to a series of misfortunes out of her control.

Presenter Kevin described it as “dire” financially but worse was still to come.

As she was given a £19,000 bill for road cables to connect the house to electricity, and a dumbfounded Kevin was astonished.

The vast increase in costs caused fans to comment further as they couldn’t believe how much she had spent.

“Has she not heard of a stannah stair lift, what a waste of money” exclaimed a viewer.

“900k! And couldn’t even put a stairlift in! What a waste, should have saved the stress and bought a adapted bungalow.

“And it looks like a 1950s community centre” slated another.

One fan went as far as saying: “£900k for a three bed semi? Someone’s taking the p**s.”

The listing reads: “Green Dragon Barn enjoys a peaceful setting near the popular village of Blackawton, which offers a strong community spirit, a highly regarded primary school, a parish church, and a traditional village pub.

“The vibrant market town of Kingsbridge lies approximately 7 miles to the west and provides a wide range of shops, amenities, and a well-respected secondary school, serving nearby coastal villages such as Salcombe and Thurlestone.

“Totnes, around 7 miles to the north, offers an eclectic mix of independent shops, cafes, and galleries, along with a mainline railway station providing direct services to London in around three hours.

“To the south, the historic town of Dartmouth sits at the mouth of the beautiful River Dart and is renowned for its maritime heritage, excellent sailing facilities, and the prestigious Britannia Royal Naval College, also approximately 7 miles away.”

However, Martin said he “wouldn’t blame” new owners if they want to change the style to suit their personal preferences.

He also highlighted the potential their 1.3 acre garden and orchard have to offer.

Looking forward, Martin said: “I can’t imagine living in any house that I didn’t want to make changes to, so I’m open to a new project if I can find one.

“But whatever happens it will be a lot smaller – something on the scale of Green Dragon Barn is really a once-in-a-lifetime project.”

This comes after Grand Designs revealed the “most ambitious project ever” as parents embark on building an allergy-proof home.

Elinor and Born Barikor, from Richmond in south west London, have created the “healthy house” for their three children.

The couple’s two sons, Avery and Pascal, both have potentially life-threatening dairy, wheat, egg, gluten, soya, oat, pulses, fruit, nut, dust, pollen and animal fur allergies.

Elinor and Born bought their property in 2018 with the hopes of forging a “safe haven” for the boys.

Grand Designs presenter Kevin McCloud has since revisited the family to see how they got on.

Meanwhile, one local said their life is “completely ruined” by their millionaire neighbour’s “glass MONSTROSITY” Grand Designs-style super home.

Elsewhere, one Grand Designs house has been branded the “biggest pile of s*** in show’s history”.

And, Kevin McCloud has revealed the ONE bit of advice he’d give to anyone embarking on their own building project.

Hollyoaks fans are concerned Dodger Savage has been killed off

Hollyoaks fans have all said the same thing after the latest “insane” episode.

During Wednesday’s (May 28) dramatic episode, which is available to watch on Channel 4’s website, corrupt copper DI Alistair Banks (Drew Cain) put the lives of Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence), Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass) and Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith) in more jeopardy.

Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) told Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) about a private auction site he’s sure DI Banks will be using to sell the teens.

At The Loft, DI Banks started the bidding with Vicky and Rex and Dodger tried to be the highest bidders but to no avail. However, Dillon assured Frankie that he had a plan and tried to create a distraction.

Pierce Brosnan hits back at critics who mocked Irish accent on Mobland as show’s future hangs in the balance

PIERCE BROSNAN has hit back after being widely mocked for struggling to master an Irish accent – despite being born in Ireland.

He got ridiculed for his lilt while playing mobster Conrad Hannigan in Paramount+ show, MobLand.

It contributed to uncertainty over whether the Guy Ritchie-directed thriller, which also stars Helen Mirren and Tom Hardy, would get a second series.

But Pierce told the Radio Times: “My own accent is very soft. Conrad’s accent is a million miles away from me.”

A dialect coach recommended he speak with someone whose voice he could use as inspiration.

Pierce explained: “I told him I needed a Kerry accent, so he gave me the name of a man and I Googled the guy and that was it.

During a debate on scheduling intimacy, he said: “I don’t think you can.

JOHNNY: C4 LACKS IDENTITY

JOHNNY VAUGHAN has slammed Channel 4 for failing to back the 2022 reboot of The Big Breakfast.

The presenter, who fronted the show from 1997 to 2001, said the channel had lost its identity without a flagship early-morning programme.

He also criticised TV execs’ obsession with cooking shows, saying they’re full of “boring, middle-aged, white chefs”.

The 2022 reboot of just four episodes, was hosted by Mo Gilligan and AJ Odudu.

Johnny told Mo’s podcast he watched the reboot and that the show “just needs time”.

He added: “It’s meant to be an alternative to dreary daily breakfast shows.

“Without it, I think it’s like school without an assembly. You’ve got to say who you are every day. This is what’s on.”

‘Absolutely phenomenal’ series with all-star cast leaving Amazon Prime soon

Amazon Prime Video is home to a number of hit series and movies, as well as some hidden gems, but one show which is set to leave the streaming service is Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams

Sci-fi fans on Amazon Prime Video have less than a month left to devour the star-studded anthology series Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams.

The show, which first aired on Channel 4 in 2017 before making its way to the streaming giant, draws inspiration from ten of the author’s short stories.

Its debut episode took cues from his tale The Hood Maker, plunging viewers into an alternate 1970s London rife with mind-reading citizens, societal unrest, and escalating distrust that culminates in riots.

Other episodes dive into themes like interstellar travel and the lives of synthetic beings endowed with human-like intelligence and emotions.

The cast list reads like a who’s who of television royalty, featuring Richard Madden of Game of Thrones fame, Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston, Steve Buscemi, Anna Paquin, Terrence Howard, and Holliday Grainger.

Cranston not only graced the screen but also put on the producer’s hat for the series, working alongside writers such as Jack Thorne, Tony Grisoni, and Dee Rees.

Upon its release, the series was met with critical acclaim, drawing parallels to the cult favourite Black Mirror and earning a solid 72% on Rotten Tomatoes.

One person praised: “Just recently discovered this series. Too bad each episode was a standalone. Several of these episodes would have made a good complete series on their own.”

Another said: “This show is absolutely phenomenal! Every episode makes you think and scares you that it could be our future. They’re so well filmed, scripted and acted. I want more!!!!!

“So sad to see it was only one season. Bring us more! Shocked not all 5 star reviews!

“Each episode is a different short story. They feel like mini movies that are so detailed and intense that when they are over you want more. They really put your “what if” mind to use.”

Philip K Dick's Electric Dreams
Viewers have been raving about the series

“Every episode I’ve seen of this show is just incredible. It makes you think. Sometimes about humanity and sometimes about sci-fi tropes and conventions and how we should be breaking those more often. Electric Dreams is immersive and beautifully made,” a third said.

Back in 2017, executive producer Ronald D. Moore expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying: “Philip K. Dick’s stories have inspired a lot of us, especially those of us who have loved science fiction since childhood. From Blade Runner, Minority Report, and Man On The High Castle, there’s so much material.”

Moore added: “So when the opportunity came to work on it, I did jump at it because I knew this is a rare opportunity to do something with one of the master’s works.

“I wasn’t familiar with the short stories at all, but I instantly realised we could definitely do a series like this and the more we talked about the nature of the project – that each show would be individualised as an anthology but have a diversity of viewpoint and give artists an opportunity to bring their own vision – the more exciting the project got.”

Hollyoaks legend signs up for huge new reality show on BBC after quitting soap

HOLLYOAKS legend Jamie Lomas has signed up for BBC’s Celebrity MasterChef after quitting the Channel 4 soap.

Jamie, 50, is best known for his long-running role as bad boy Warren Fox – but now he’s trading street brawls for saucepans in the hit cooking competition.

Filming has already wrapped, and insiders say viewers will get to see a very different side to the actor.

A source told The Sun: “Jamie was looking to do something where fans could meet the real him – not just Hollyoaks hardman Warren Fox!

“He’s actually quite good in the kitchen and he’s really competitive too. It’s already been filmed but he’s not telling anyone how far he got.”

Grace Dent will be judging alongside John Torode, replacing Gregg Wallace after he was accused of “lewd and inappropriate behaviour” on the MasterChef set.

Jamie will join the likes of Love Island star Chris Hughes, Blue singer Antony Costa, Corrie actress Katie McGlynn and RuPaul’s Drag Race star Ginger Johnson when the hit show returns later this year.

The BBC has been contacted for comment.

Jamie has also made headlines for his offbeat acting choices, including a divisive role in Jafaican, the Peter Andre-fronted film that raised eyebrows among critics and fans alike.

While the soap star hasn’t come under fire, Peter wears a dreadlock wig and puts on a Jamaican accent in toe-curling scenes.

Jamie is set to appear in a film alongside Katie Price too, where he plays Jack The Ripper.

And he’s going to make a shock return to Hollyoaks, as excitement for its 30th anniversary ramps up.

Jamie quit the soap last year after a stint spanning almost two decades.

Kym Marsh gushes over ex husband Jamie Lomas’ new baby after he welcomes daughter with new fiance

Viewers watched his character Warren flee abroad after leaving Mercedes McQueen behind with her children, unwilling to force them all to live on the run.

Jamie briefly returned last month for a flashback episode, which we were first to reveal

But will return for ANOTHER short stint on the show, which will no doubt delight fans.

A source told us: “Jamie’s returning for a limited stint later this month.

“He loves the show and could fit it in so jumped at the chance. It will see

“Warren return to the village in the present day but who will he come face to face with and what will happen?

“It’s definitely going to be a treat for fans.”

You know those smug, perfect mums? How well do you really know them? What if they’re not that perfect after all? Little Disasters, airing today (Thursday 22 May) on Paramount+, is a deliciously gripping psychological thriller. Based on the novel by Sarah Vaughan, it follows a group of four women whose friendship implodes.

When Jess (Diane Kruger) takes her baby to hospital with an unexplained head injury, her close friend and on-duty A&E doctor Liz (Jo Joyner) must make the excruciating decision of whether to call social services.

It starts with Jess taking her screaming baby to hospital. It’s A&E on a Friday night and only Liz is available to check baby Betsy. When Liz finds a significant bump on Betsy’s head, she asks Jess what happened – but Jess is sketchy on the details. “She slipped,” she says. Turns out the 10-month-old has a skull fracture and significant bruising. The action flashes back to when she and Jess met 11 years ago at a class for expectant mums, along with two other women.

Exploring themes of motherhood and friendship, the series looks at what happens to this group of women after Liz sets off a catastrophic chain of events. Liz says: “I always thought that Jess was the perfect mother, but then something happens, some little disaster and suddenly you ask yourself, what else is she hiding?” Also starring Shelley Conn, Emily Taaffe, Stephen Campbell Moore, Ben Bailey Smith, Patrick Baladi, Robert Gilbert, Chizzy Akudolu and JJ Feild, this thriller will have you questioning everything. All six episodes are now available to binge.

There’s plenty more on TV tonight – here’s the best of the rest..

THE HORNE SECTION TV SHOW, CHANNEL 4, 10pm

Riotous, wacky, sublimely silly, this sitcom revels in taking a swipe at popular culture and definitely doesn’t take itself too seriously. Written by and starring Alex Horne, with an appearance from his real life wife Rachel, playing his wife (who else!), this is a second run for the quirky comedy.

Struggling with his newfound fame, the pressures of filming live from his family home, and a subsequent lack of money, Alex is determined to prove to the nation that he’s a credible leader of his band, while trying not to be overshadowed by the real musicians he works with.

It starts with an unsuccessful appearance on Sunday Brunch, during which Alex is irritated by the presence of ‘proper musician’, James Corden’s band leader Reggie Watts. Producer Thora (Desiree Burch) then books Reggie as a guest on The Horne Section TV Show, while C4 exec Ash (Georgia Tennant) commissions talent contest, World’s Strongest Musician, which gives Alex a chance to prove himself. Or not.

NINE PERFECT STRANGERS, PRIME VIDEO

Nicole Kidman returns as the creepy, mysterious wellness guru Masha, who has invited nine new strangers to a transformational retreat in the Austrian Alps. With her ageless face, white blonde hair and bewitching eyes, Nicole is made for this role and this is another thrill-ride of a series.

The nine people have been chosen under bizarre circumstances for a healing retreat – they think they’re heading off to a spa, but they are connected in ways they could never imagine. Over the course of a week, Masha takes them to the brink. She says: “I invited you all here because sometimes you shouldn’t deal with pain gently.”

The first series included vials of blood and digging your own grave, so we know that something sinister is definitely going on. An excellent cast includes Henry Golding, Annie Murphy, Christine Baranski, Lucas Englander, Murray Bartlett, Mark Strong and Aras Aydin. “You have to trust me,” says Masha. They definitely shouldn’t…

EMMERDALE, ITV1, 7.30pm

With Mack being ostracised by sister Moira and mortified over his actions, he backs out of being Aaron’s best man. Belle tells Sam that Nate never arrived at his job in the Shetlands. Suspicious, Belle vows to get to the bottom of his sudden disappearance. John pushes a flashback of Nate’s dead body out of his mind and focuses on relaxing. Sarah slips away to her hospital appointment alone where she’s forced to face her potential cancer diagnosis.

EASTENDERS, BBC1, 7.30pm

Stacey leaves the house for the first time in weeks. However, Kat is concerned when Stacey invites them for a big family meal, fearing that she’s trying to do too much too soon.

Everything comes crashing down later when Stacey realises that her coat and mobile phone have accidentally fallen into the laundry bag and Freddie has taken everything to be washed. The phone contains voicemails, photos and texts from Martin and if the phone is damaged, they will be lost forever.

The identity of Deal or No Deal’s mystery banker was a secret for many years before it was revealed that they were actually a huge Coronation Street star. During the programme’s original run on Channel 4 from 2005 to 2016, the executive producer and the banker turned out to be the same person.

Deal or No Deal’s banker turned out to be Glenn Hugill, who is best known for his role as Alan McKenna on Coronation Street from 1996 to 1997. The star appeared in 86 episodes of the show as he took on the role of detective Alan, who dated Fiona Middleton and was meant to marry her.

However, their wedding ceremony was called off when Jim McDonald revealed his affair with Fiona, and Alan soon departed the cobbles. The actor also appeared in shows like Dalziel and Pascoe, The Upper Hand and Chandler & Co. In 2001, he took on a presenter role for the 2001 series The Mole.

In early 2023, Glenn sold his production company, Possessed, to ITV and became C.C.O. of Wheelhouse, the media empire founded by American talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. He was previously the managing director of the company, which quickly became one of the most successful production companies in the UK.

When he was 10 years old, Glenn scored a 207 in a national IQ test designed for under 16s, which was the highest recorded result in the country.

 Stephen Mulhern
It is not known who the current banker is (Image: ITV)

Local newspaper The Northern Echo once reported he took another test made for adults and recorded a result of 177, the highest score the test was capable of registering.

Glenn is said to have held the role of banker on Deal or No Deal for a decade, but it isn’t known who replaced him for the new ITV version hosted by Stephen Mulhern.

Stephen previously said: “I don’t know who the Banker is. So I wouldn’t be able to recognise who it was. So, he could walk past me at any point.”

The voice on the phone is “male” but Stephen added: “Supposedly, he goes into the hotel and listens to the contestants and what they’re up to. So when he comes on the phone to me, I’ve got to repeat what he says.

“So, he’ll say, ‘Just tell them blah, blah, blah, blah, blah’. But he gives him nicknames. So like, ‘Two Wine Wendy,’ because she’s always having an extra wine. It’s quite creepy.

“That first time the phone rang, it was like, ‘What’s he going to sound like? What’s he going to be like?’ But he takes no prisoners. There’s one contestant in particular who has a really bad ride and a really bad time, and at the end of it, the contestant is nearly in tears, and the phone rings.

“I’m thinking ‘Okay, he’s going to at least console a tiny bit’. And he went, ‘Just tell him it’s not a pity party. Let’s crack on with tomorrow,’ and put the phone down.”

Aimee Lou Wood has revealed one of her top film picks that UK viewers can stream for free.

The much-admired film is presently available on Channel 4 and promises to touch your heart in just a little over an hour.

The cherished British actress, known for her roles in The White Lotus and Sex Education, recently popped into the Criterion Closet to chat about some of her most treasured films.

She highlighted Céline Sciamma’s touching work on the themes of youth and bereavement, Petite Maman, labelling it as a ‘heartbreaking’ film that’s a must-see.

With the film’s critical praise and its brief runtime of 70 minutes, available at no cost on Channel 4, it’s easy to fit into your viewing schedule before it disappears from the service, reports the Express.

While discussing her top picks, Wood acknowledged Thelma and Louise, accessible on Prime Video in the UK, and Petite Maman as two standout movies.

Speaking about the celebrated French creation from 2021, she referred to it as “the sweetest, most haunting, beautiful film and it just tears me apart.

“It’s just mums, mums. Anything about mums gets me right in the ticker. I love my mum, I’ve got her name tattooed on my arm.

“And I also love [Sciamma’s] Portrait of a Lady on Fire, so I love all of her movies, so she’s just one of my faves.”

For those needing more persuasion, cinephiles have shared glowing five-star feedback supporting Wood’s enthusiasm for Petite Maman.

One enthusiast exclaimed over the motion picture, celebrating it as “A beautiful, tender hug of a film.

“And refreshing to have a film mainly from a child’s point of view. The child actors were wonderful. As was the pace of the film. Perfection.”

Meanwhile, a fan on Letterboxd raved: “What Céline Sciamma achieves in a mere 72 minutes is dumbfounding.”

They added: “A moving and tender portrait of familial relationships told through a fantastical but still grounded lens of time travel. My heart is full and I wept as the credits rolled. Sciamma is truly a master of the craft.

“I hope every living soul gets a chance to watch this.”

These glowing reviews make Petite Maman a must-watch for the week.

Channel 4’s The Honesty Box star rushed to hospital after medical emergency on holiday

The Honesty Box star Rose Skehan has revealed that she was admitted to a medical clinic while travelling in Thailand after filming the show, with the star fainting at a restaurant

The Honesty Box runners up Rose Skehan and Tommy Biswell went off on their travels to Thailand after filming the E4 show – and have revealed that one particular day proved to be dramatic when Tommy was forced to carry Rose to a nearby clinic. The couple, who met on the dating show hosted by Vicky Pattison, have stayed together since the show’s finale and moved in together as they travel from place to place in the UK.

However, Rose revealed in a chat with The Mirror that she suddenly became ill one night during their trip to Thailand. “There was one time where I got really sick when we went to Thailand and I fainted at dinner,” she says.

“Tommy was carrying me like a baby through the streets of Thailand to this clinic and I was on an IV drip. We had the most random time ever.”

Tommy adds, “One minute she was singing having a fab time, next she was in a clinic on a drip. It was really quite mad that but Thailand was amazing time. We saw elephants, we rode horses, we saw monks.”

Rose continues, “We were walking up waterfalls, we really like broaden our horizons as well.”

The trip also made the couple even closer after Rose suffered a devastating loss back at home. “It brought us so much closer together because while were out there as well, my horse of 11 years, he passed away and Tommy really stepped up in caring for me and supporting me so we’ve got such a strong base coming back to England.”

Since leaving the show, Rose and Tommy have moved in together – revealing that they have been travelling the UK as a couple ever since. “We’re actually all over, so we jump round from cabin to cabin,” Tommy says. “We’re exploring the whole country. We’re finding nice little places that we’ve not been to in the UK.”

Rose adds, “It’s great because we both love historic houses and animals – we’re in our element going all over the countryside.”

The couple narrowly missed out on the show’s winnings as it was Chantelle and Jovan who emerged as champions of The Honesty Box. The winning pair recently revealed to the Mirror that they’re ready for marriage.

Titled Three Landlords Walk into a Bar, they will do a deep dive on British pubs from ghost stories to industry analysis and will be chatting with some of the UK’s most successful publicans and industry leaders.

“Expect everything from ghost stories in Britain’s most haunted pub to tales of the Beatles, building inclusive spaces, and the importance of the perfect pint (of course),” read the announcement on Instagram.

In the accompanying video to the social media post, fans are given a preview of some of the guests and conversations that can look forward to hearing in the coming season.

Jodie shared it to her Instagram stories saying: “I loved doing this podcast.”

The supermodel is landlady at 16th century boozer, Half Moon in Kirdford, West Sussex, who has often spoken out about the importance of pubs to local communities.

“People are always surprised when they find out I run a pub. It’s one of the toughest yet most rewarding jobs,” she said in a statement about the podcast.

“There’s a whole world behind the bar that most punters never get to see – the highs, the graft, the sheer heart landlords pour in.”

Merlin who is the landlord of the Dog & Gun in Leicestershire also wants to raise awareness about the pressures facing pubs in the U.K.

“Being a landlord isn’t just about pulling pints and hosting quizzes – it’s late nights, leaky pipes, and learning to adapt fast,” he said.

“Amidst turbulent times for the industry, we wanted to sit down and explore how Britain’s pubs are evolving to stay at the heart of their communities – whether that’s finding new ways to get people in the door or embracing game-changing tech to serve up top-quality pints more efficiently and sustainably.”

First Dates star Merlin Griffiths reveals ‘life-changing consequences’ of cancer battle in new health update

Celebs Go Dating guru Dr. Tara Suwinyattichaiporn has revealed all on the latest series of the hit E4 reality show, which has kicked off filming under the sun in Ibiza.

Pop icon and Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona is giving love another shot on the show, joining fresh faces including Love Island’s Olivia Hawkins, Too Hot To Handle’s Louis Russell, and S Club’s very own Jon Lee.

Christine McGuinness, formerly of The Real Housewives of Cheshire fame, was set to join the romantic escapades but has stepped back due to feeling “overwhelmed” by the focus on her personal life and pining for her family.

For the first time ever, the celeb-packed cast jetted off to the party island to shoot the opening episode, with Dr. Tara teaming up with fellow love experts Paul C Brunson and Anna Williamson.

Chatting about the new dynamic, Dr.Tara enthused: “It’s been really, really great. I think that we should do it again next year.”, reports OK!.

She added, “There was a sense of relaxation and people were more open to sharing. This group gels really well and there’s good chemistry between all of them. I feel like this series almost everyone is represented.”

Dr. Tara continued: “We have people who are divorced and dating again, we have young people, we have people who have never dated on a TV show so I think it’s a good group with a diverse background in terms of life experiences.”

Reflecting on the benefits of the overseas trip, she concluded, “I’m really glad we got to do the trip abroad early because it really is a test to see if you’re ready or not.”

Mother-of-four Kerry first graced the Celebs Go Dating stage back in 2019, and only now is working with Dr. Tara who joined the dating agency’s crew in 2023.

Dr. Tara was candid about her initial thoughts versus the reality of meeting Kerry, saying, “Anna and Paul worked with Kerry before and I had a little bit of preconceived notions from what I heard and read about her but I was very pleasantly surprised how refreshing.”

She was taken aback by Kerry’s demeanour: “When I met her I figured she’d be chaotic and all over the place but however she’s very peaceful and very self aware and is now really working towards finding love.”

Dr. Tara observed how Kerry has reached a state of personal acceptance which makes her ready to delve back into romance: “She has found acceptance for herself so now she’s ready to date and find love.”

Following Kerry’s break up with former fiancé Ryan Mahoney last year after a six-year-long relationship, she cited a “breach of trust” as the catalyst, revealing, “I never in a million years thought this would happen. Without going into too much detail, there has been a breach of trust between us.”

Embracing her new single status, Kerry’s been indulging in solo trips to Thailand, focusing on a transformative journey of self-love.

Reflecting on her solo travels, Kerry shared at the time, “It’s been a healing journey about spirituality and finding yourself. This is exactly what I needed and it’s shown me that I can do everything I want by myself. I don’t need anyone else.”

Channel 4 Grand Designs viewers reel over ‘mistake’ as they ‘switch off’

Channel 4 viewers were left feeling deflated after tuning into the most recent edition of Grand Designs on Tuesday night.

It seems as though Channel 4 has ruffled a few feathers amongst Grand Designs viewers this week, leaving them disgruntled after airing what turned out to be a repeated episode.

Loyal fans of the show, fronted by Kevin McCloud, were less than impressed on Tuesday night as they felt duped after tuning in to watch the programme.

Audiences took to social media, expressing their frustration and noting they had switched channels once they realised it was a rerun of an episode aired recently on April 16.

The disappointed devotees watched as host Kevin McCloud caught up with Graeme and Melanie’s Hackney project, which escalated in complexity and price, reports Express.

Grumbling online, one irritated fan commented: “I don’t know why they have to repeat them so often.”

Echoing the sentiment, another voiced: “We thought exactly the same… @granddesigns changed channels now.”

Someone else remarked: “@granddesigns @Channel4 I think you’ve made a mistake – you’re showing the same #granddesigns episode you showed the week before last.”

Another chimed in with: “Oh I’ve seen this one. I’m sure it was on not long ago. #GrandDesigns.”

Meanwhile, one viewer quizzed: “Why are we getting repeats midway through a new series? #granddesigns @Channel4.”

Graeme and Melanie’s daring construction project in Hackney was taking form on a tiny plot, previously home to twin garages, nestled among traditional Victorian terraces, which they snapped up for £275,000.

The couple set themselves a challenging one-year deadline to complete the build, budgeting between £400,000 and £450,000 for the entire endeavour.

Architect Graeme meticulously crafted plans for what he hoped would be a snug haven for his family, including his teenage daughters, designing “an unapologetically modernist bright red design” with clever use of vertical space inside.

But their plans hit a bump when the firm handling the basement works withdrew, blaming rocketing material costs – an issue presenter Kevin McCloud noted was impacting builders worldwide.

Neighbourly disputes further complicated matters, leading to a pressing ultimatum to remove their scaffolding or face penalties.

As their daughters became increasingly agitated by the building mayhem, pressure intensified for Graeme and Melanie to finish their dream home.

Kevin returned for a catch-up visit 18 months after the initial setbacks to discover if the family had succeeded in creating their ideal abode.
