The expert (@happyhomeclearance) shared the video with their TikTok followers.

While at Target, they were inspired to make the project after seeing a cake stand.

Although the $25 was a bit too steep for them, they fashioned their own money-saving alternative.

Grabbing a $0.50 bowl and matching plate, they positioned the two pieces on top of each other.

Turning the bowl upside down, they placed the plate on top to form a stand.

“Grab a 50-cent plate and bowl, and attach using glue,” they said.

Once the glue was set, they revealed that the finished product resulted in an effective, cheap cake stand.

“$1 stand dupe!” they revealed.

They placed their dupe next to one of Target’s cake stands that boasted a much steeper price tag and a five-star rating.

“Theirs $25,” they said.

“These would be great next to a sink with soap, lotion, etc. too!” they suggested.

People thanked the crafty expert for their money-saving idea.

“Omg brilliant!” praised one commenter.
